Audience: Know your target audience and what they'll expect from the site. What information might they be looking for? Are they web-savvy? Is your site user-friendly enough? Include a navigational bar to help viewers find their way around.
Visual: While you want to attract a crowd, you don't want a crowded website. Make sure yours is clear, concise and easy to understand. Intricate fonts and busy backgrounds are distracting. Too much information on one page can also confuse the viewer. Group related information together in another part of the site.
Logos and graphics: Incorporating the company logo in the design will help the viewer recognize your company. Graphics also may serve as a point of interest, but remember that the more graphics there are on a page, the longer the download time will be.
Information: What kind of information are your customers looking for? Prices? Schedules? Hours of operation? Whenever possible, make it easy to print and download.
Feedback: You want to hear from your customers. Make sure to include a feedback section and post contact information in numerous locations on your site.
Points of interest: What will keep your audience coming back to the site? Include updatable information and other points of interest to attract later views.
