Oregon District adds 5 businesses
A steakhouse, an inn, a furnishings store, a handbag shop and a tech services outlet open.

DAYTON — Five businesses in the Oregon District marked their official opening Thursday.
The businesses range from a steakhouse to a furnishings store, and their launch makes use of commercial space vacated by other companies.

Jimmy Modern features vintage modern furniture, art and other items, said owner Jimmy Kitz. He opened the 605 E. Fifth St. store in October in a space formerly occupied by Da Da Art Antiques and Collectibles, he said.
Inn Port D'Vino, a venture by Leslie and Jeff Gonya, opened in a two-story Victorian home at 22 Brown St. Leslie Gonya said the new units are named for destinations known for their wine such as Champagne, France and Oporto, Portugal.
The facility marks the couple's second hospitality venture in the district. In 2003, they launched the Inn Port Guesthouse at 137 Brown St., Leslie Gonya said.
Both locations have proven popular with travelers who live within an hour of Dayton, she said. The two-story building housed a law firm.
John Henry's, a southern-style steakhouse, has moved into the former Blue Moon restaurant space. The restaurant is a venture by Gail Davis and her husband, Will, along with Gail's brother Chris Sassenberg and his wife, Robin. The two couples also own the Trolley Stop.
Clearwire/G2 Digital Solutions, 504 E. Fifth St., provides technology services for government agencies. The company, owned by Vincent Cowie, also offers residential home Internet and phone services.
Hollywood Handbags, owned by LaDonna Stinson, carries handbags, wallets and luggage at 508 E. Fifth St.
