ASI to offer flight training for Sinclair

Staff Report

Wednesday, February 06, 2008

MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — Sinclair Community College and Aviation Sales Inc. are making it official: ASI will begin offering flight training to the college's aviation students.

Representatives of both organizations made the announcement Wednesday at Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport, where the training will be offered.

Extras

The agreement supports a Sinclair program that provides students who complete the training with an associate of applied science degree in aviation technology. That qualifies those students to obtain licenses and certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration and pursue jobs with commercial airlines, which have increased their hiring of pilots.

ASI is taking over the training from Delta Connection Academy, a flight training school affiliated with Delta Air Lines that has provided Sinclair's flight training for the past three years at Dayton International Airport. The academy has operated in multiple locations with colleges around the country in recent years, but Delta is reorganizing the operation and ending a number of those training agreements.
