MIAMISBURG — PEQ Consulting Inc., which provides information technology services to corporate and government clients, is hiring additional employees and looking for more space in its headquarters building because business is increasing, its chief executive said.
"We're having growing pains," said Jason Evans, president and chief executive officer. "Those are good types of problems to have. ... Our growth, quite honestly, has outpaced our expectations."

A new contract to serve Sonic Automotive Inc., a retailer of new and used cars at 173 dealerships nationwide, is the immediate reason to expand the PEQ Consulting work force, Evans said in a telephone interview Monday.
PEQ employs 43 people in its headquarters operation in the Dayco building along Interstate 75 and expects to increase that soon to a total of 56, Evans said. The company is hoping to expand its operation to the building's eighth floor and perhaps its top (ninth) floor as well because PEQ is outgrowing its existing space on other floors, he said. PEQ is working with developer Miller-Valentine Group on a buildout plan for the additional space, Evans said.
PEQ also plans a significant expansion of its work force nationally by hiring additional hardware and software specialists, systems administrators, field engineering specialists and accounting professionals, he said.
The company moved into the Dayco building two years ago. It operates regional offices in Charlotte, N.C.; Atlanta; Detroit; Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco and serves the nation's 50 largest metropolitan areas.
Its customers include automotive retail and finance companies, private equity firms and government agencies.
