The bookmarks company began in 1926 as the Antioch Bookplate Co., when two students from Antioch College bgan printing and selling bookplates, decorative labels that allowed people to personalize their books. The company was not affiliated with the college. Decades later, the company was renamed Antioch Publishing Co.
The parent Antioch Co. said it will keep its corporate headquarters, and its printing and manufacturing operations, in Yellow Springs. The sale does not involve Creative Memories, an Antioch Co. unit which sells traditional and digital scrapbook products and custom frames for pictures.
