TROY — CJ's HighMarks restaurant at 1750 W. Main St. has closed.
A sign on the restaurant's door thanked customers for 18 years of patronage and invited them to redeem gift certificates and loyalty-reward certificates at CJ's HighMarks restaurants in Sidney and Greenville.

John R. Irmscher, CJ's HighMarks president, said today, June 10, that the Troy restaurant's lease came up for renewal in April.
"As management at Troy did not wish to pledge a long-term commitment to its operations, and as (I have) reached the age of 66, we have decided not to renew Troy's lease," Irmscher wrote in an email.
The restaurant opened in Troy in 1990. It changed its name to Tego Bay and overhauled is menu in 2001 after a November 1999 outbreak of E. coli that sickened 39 people was traced to the restaurant. It later returned to the CJ's HighMarks name.
Diana Thompson, executive director of the Miami County Visitors and Convention Bureau, said she was surprised to hear of the closing.
"CJ's HighMarks was a wonderful tourism partner and a great restaurant. We're sorry to see it close," Thompson said.
