WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Wright State University and the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority are working with base officials in an effort to improve parking availability and traffic flow for the annual Freedom's Call Tattoo.
The show, scheduled from 8 to 10 p.m. this Friday, June 27, on the grounds of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force drew an estimated 60,000 people last year. It will again feature military aircraft flyovers, patriotic music and the closing fireworks show. The gates are to open at 4:30 p.m.
Wright State has agreed to make parking lots available for the event, and the RTA is to provide regular shuttle runs every 10 minutes from those lots to the event grounds between 4 and 11 p.m., the Air Force said.
The Charlie Daniels Band will be the featured act Friday, along with the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight and a local band, Blind Spot.
The Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter is scheduled to be among the aircraft flown over the show. The Air Force plans technology displays in a tent on the grounds.
