UD grad WellPoint's new CIO

INDIANAPOLIS — University of Dayton graduate Lori Beer is the new chief information officer of Wellpoint, Inc., parent company of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The executive vice president position reports directly to president and CEO Angela Braly.
"She and our IT team are focused on finding ways to deploy technology to make it faster and simpler to do business with us while reducing costs," Braly said of Beer, whose 20 years in information technology experience include more than 10 at WellPoint. Beer had been acting CIO since May.
WellPoint also announced Martin Miller as new chief accounting officer and controller, a senior vice president reporting to chief financial officer Wayne DeVeydt. Miller now works for Molson Coors Brewing Company and spent 11 years before that with Coca-Cola, ultimately as a divisional CFO.
