Ohio fuel cell companies part of national trade show

CLEVELAND — Fuel cell technology companies from Ohio will be represented at the Fuel Cell Seminar & Exposition trade show Oct. 27-30 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Among the companies and organizations scheduled to participate are MoundTech, Miamisburg; Edison Materials Technology Center, Kettering; Yamatake Sensing Control Ltd., Mason; NexTech Materials, Lewis Center; Battelle, Columbus, and Edison Welding Institute, Columbus.
Ohio has built a reputation as a center for developing fuel cell materials and assembly. Markets for the fuel cells include portable power for forklifts, laptop computers and radios, and for equipment carried by soldiers on the battlefield.
Fuel cells use a chemical reaction to harness hydrogen and oxygen to generate electricity without combustion. The byproducts are water and heat.
