Local hospital's stroke program earns national recognition

KETTERING — The Wallace-Kettering Neuroscience Institute Stroke Program, based at Kettering and Sycamore Medical Centers, will be recognized at the American Heart Association's International Stroke Conference, the hospital said in a news release.
The program recently received the Silver Performance Achievement Award through the American Heart and Stroke Association's "Get With the Guidelines" program.
The award recognizes implementation of a higher standard of stroke care in accordance with nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
The stroke program also will be listed in U.S. News and World Report's "Best Hospitals" edition in 2009.
