Monday, January 05, 2009
COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Development is requesting business proposals under the state's technology-promoting Third Frontier program.
The department is offering grants of up to $2 million under the "success and pre-seed funding initiative" of the Third Frontier program. It is intended to support regional organizations that help nurture startup companies in areas including biomedical, information technology, advanced energy development and materials technologies.
Companies which desire to submit proposals must have their letters of intent in to the Department of Development by Feb. 5, and proposals are due by March 12. Winners of grants are to be announced in May.
Last year, the state awarded a total of $7.5 million in grants to six organizations across Ohio.
For more information, businesses may contact Kelly Schlissberg at the Department of Development at (614) 466-4133 or at kelly.schlissberg@development.ohio.gov.
