DAYTON — John A. Paul, administrator of the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency in Dayton, has been chosen as the 2009 winner of the S. Smith Griswold Outstanding Air Pollution Control Official Award.
"This recognition as the top air pollution control official in the country is well-deserved and a tremendous honor," Montgomery County Health Commissioner Jim Gross said in a prepared release on Monday, Jan. 5. (RAPCA is part of Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County.)
Paul will be recognized at the Air & Waste Management Association's 102nd annual conference and exhibition June 18 in Detroit.
Paul, who has served with RAPCA for more than 35 years, has served as past president of a national association of local air quality officials, co-chair for many national air quality committees, and legislative liaison for the Ohio Local Air Pollution Control Officials Association.
