Soma Intimate to close Greene location

BEAVERCREEK — The Greene is seeing its first retail closure.
Soma Intimates has alerted customers and employees that it is closing its doors at the Greene County shopping, entertainment, professional and residential site.
"It's part of a national closure of these stores," said Michael Duffey, a spokesman for The Greene.
Ernest Bannister, a spokesman for Fort Myers, Fla.-based Chico's FAS Inc., deferred questions to a colleague, who wasn't available. Chico's owns 72 Soma Intimates stores and one Soma Intimates outlet store, according to the company's Web site.
Since The Greene opened in 2006, it has grown steadily, Duffey said. He said traffic last year grew "nearly double digits," with the development seeing 500,000 visits per month.
Recent Greene openings include Forever XXI in December and Von Maur last fall, Duffey said. Noodles & Co. is expected to open later this month.
Said Duffey, "We have averaged one new tenant every month since opening, and that continued throughout 2008."
The Cafe Istanbul closed at the Greene in 2007, with another restaurant opening in its place.
