Honda's Ohio plants recognized by EPA

Honda automotive operations in Ohio and Alabama have been recognized for cutting the amount of energy they use to make cars and light trucks, according to a news release.
The plants — including the Honda of America Manufacturing's factories in Marysville and East Liberty — received an Energy Star from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the auto manufacturer said.
In fiscal 2008, Honda's average carbon dioxide levels were the lowest since the company began measuring the results, Honda said.
The Ohio facilities cut back their power usage through better use of lighting, chiller systems, motors, heaters, compressed air, air conditioning and other features, Honda executives said.
Honda makes its Accord sedan and coupe and the Acura TL and RDX at the Marysville plant.
