DAYTON — Eight lawyers, including four new partners, will join the Dayton office of the Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP law firm.
That gives Taft's Dayton office a staff of more than 30 lawyers, ranking it among the top three full-service firms in the city, Taft said in announcing the staff additions Thursday, Feb. 19.
The new arrivals include four lawyers from Crew & Buchanan in Dayton, including new partners Jeffrey A. Swillinger and Jennifer H. Harrison, and partners Barbara A. Duncombe and Suzanne Sumner, coming to Taft from Sebaly Shillito & Dyer.
The changes will become effective Monday, Feb. 23, said Jeffrey Mullins, partner in charge of Taft's Dayton office. In addition to more attorneys, Taft also will gain additional suppot staff.
"The addition of these attorneys represents smart, measured growth for the firm and the clients we serve," he said.
Fred Ungerman, a partner with Taft's Dayton office, said the the addition of more attorneys focused on government contracts marks a "dramatic expansion" of the firm's capacity to handle that kind of work.
Taft, based in Cincinnati, has offices across Ohio, and in Indianapolis, northern Kentucky, Phoenix, Ariz., and Beijing, China.
Joseph Buchanan has practiced for more than 50 years and specializes in probate and worker's compensation. Duncombe specializes in government contracts law. Harrison focuses on worker's compensation while Sumner concentrates on government contracts law and commercial litigation.
