Eldora offering internships

Eldora Speedway is seeking intern help for the 2011 season. The deadline to apply is Monday. The following positions, and their description, are being offered:
A. SPONSOR & MEDIA RELATIONS ASSISTANT
- Sponsors
a. greet event and season sponsors upon arrival
b. assist with credentials
c. acquaint with facility and offer tour
d. review agenda and activation schedule (if applicable)
e. help with victory lane ceremonies
f. introduce sponsor rep(s) to public address announcer and get air time
g. assure they have a comfortable visit
- Media
a. assist with credentials
b. assure they have information needed to complete their assignment
B. MULTI MEDIA ASSISTANT
- Work with video team
a. planning of video promotion of event
b. assist with operation of video camera
c. assist with video production equipment
- Work with Social Media team
a. work with Twitter account
b. work with FaceBook account
c. work with website updates
The qualifications for these positions are:
a. basic understanding of marketing and/or multi media, and the auto racing environment
b. computer experience
c. well developed organization skills with a solid orientation to detail
d. strong desire to learn
e. enjoy working with people
f. good verbal and communication skills
g. ability to multi-task
h. must have own transportation
These positions are primarily for published race dates only - although some may require mid week and pre or post-event assignments.
These intern positions are designed primarily for work experience and possible college credit, and will be paid at minimum wage.
A letter of recommendation will be provided upon the successful completion of the internship. A transcript of work performed and duties accomplished will be made available for possible college credit reference.

Test and Tune at Waynesfield
Waynesfield Raceway Park kicks up some dirt for the first time with a Test and Tune session on Saturday. All dirt race cars are welcome to participate. Gates open at 2 p.m. and practice starts at 3.
An Easter egg hunt will be held at 2:30.
General admission is free. Admission to the pit area is $10.
Kil-Kare Mobile VIP Club
Kil-Kare Speedway is providing weather and schedule updates by text this season. To receive the updates through the Kil-Kare Mobile VIP club, text the word kilkare to 90210.
Limaland cancels for Friday night

Limaland Motorsports Park has cancelled the scheduled Spring Fling for Friday, April 22. Persistent rain showers during the week have again prompted officials to postpone the racing action at the speedway.
Limaland will now kick off the 2011 racing season with the Run for the Rabbit honoring Travis Miller on Friday, April 29. Featured divisions will be the Engine Pro NRA Sprints, K & N UMP Modifieds and Bud Thunderstocks. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with hot laps beginning at 6:30 p.m. Racing starts promptly at 7:30 p.m.
