Sundog issues call for student films
Students in grades eight through 12 are invited to create and submit short films to the Sundog 8 Regional Film Festival ,which will have its premiere at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Little Art Theatre in Yellow Springs.
Winners will be announced and cash prizes awarded.
Sundog 8 will also be part of FilmDayton’s annual festival May 22 at the Neon Movies in Dayton.
The 2010 festival attracted 90 entries from 14 school districts int he Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus areas.
Categories include narrative, documentary, experimental, music video, PSA, animation and photo essay
A special award, The Moxy, will be given for best film using a dog theme.
Films may be produced collaboratively or individually and can be no longer than 10 minutes. Submissions must be accompanied by an entry form and $3 for each entry. There is a limit of three entries per student — one entry per DVD. Entry forms are available at www.sundogfilmfestival.org.
Deadline is 5 p.m. April 25. Films can be mailed or delivered to: Sundog 8 Film Festival, c/o Yellow Springs High School, 420 E. Enon Road, Yellow Springs, OH 45387.

Open to students and teachers, adjudication will be at 9 a.m. April 28 in the recital hall of Kettering Fairmont High School, 3301 Shroyer Road, Kettering.
