T.J. on trade block says he misses Bengals, could return

Several months ago T.J. Houshmandzadeh told our NFL guru Carlos “Big C” Holmes that he misses playing with the Bengals and hinted at a return to Cincinnati.

Now reports are everywhere that Seattle is looking to trade “Housh,” who joined the Seahawks following in 2008 season.

At the time, the Bengals offered Houshmandzadeh a nearly identical deal. During an interview in December, T.J. sounded like a man who wished he had stayed put.

“I miss it,” Housh said of playing with the Bengals. “The grass ain’t always greener. Let me tell you that.”

T.J. also talked about being “fooled” by the Seahawks.

“I might be comin’ back,” he said. “When they hire this new GM (which Seattle did in June), don’t be shocked. Marvin (Lewis) and me have been keeping a nice little dialogue. He knows.”

Think there would be too many egos at wide receiver if T.J. returned?

Remember that Antonio Bryant, also considered a fiery, outspoken personality, was set to line up with Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco before the Bengals cut him because of his injured knee.

T.J. sure would look good in stripes mentoring rookie Jordan Shipley, who is the team’s future at slot receiver.

TJ was a malcontent. No reason to bring him back. He definitely would NOT look good in stripes.

Put it this way, would you rather have Whosyourmamma or Caldwell? I’ll take Housh.

Acehole. I don’t know if you have been watching the preseason at all, but Shipley is going to start over caldwell. Housh is old let shipley step in.

BRING HIM BACK!!!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I like TJ, but no…do not bring him back. The Bengals have been playing better without him. The grass isn’t always greener, but if you leave for that green grass, you can’t always come back to your old dirt yard.

Thanks but no thanks TJ - you made it abundantly clear you wanted out of Cincinnati. Yes the grass isn’t always greener, but you made your bed, now lie in it.

Bengals have recievers, need to be looking for a QB

Mike, obviously you didn’t see a single Bengals game last year. The Bengals were ranked near the bottom in offense and were ranked near the top when Housh played on the team. I don’t see many receivers that can make the tough catches Housh makes especially the cross routes.

We dont want him he is a cry baby that needs to perform before he pouts about not getting the ball he was never a number one reciver thats why his numbers suffered he didnt have some one to take the double coverages and he is not good enough to get separation from average db’s and he is a negative influence in the locker room on top of that i hope cincy will take him back but i dont think they want him

T.J. would be great to have as a veteran to teach Shipley as Shipley does things on special teams. T.J. is older but still capable, and could have a good year or two with the Bengals as Shipley gets better and better in preparation to fill his shoes. Housh, Gresh, Ocho, and T.O. would be an astounding setup.

Marvin Lewis and I have been keeping a litle dialogue. If you can spell Houshmandzadeh you can get the other right. You wanted to go there so Seahawk up.

I know there are a lot of people out there who don’t like Housh, but I am not one of them , whatever drama he produced was nothing compared with Ochocinco when he wanted to be traded, but of course all that is now forgotten. He and Chad had great chemistry and were truly the “dynamic duo” . I would love to see him back.

T.O. deep, Chad short to mid range and TJ across the middle with Benson, Peerman and Scott in the back field this team should be un stoppable. Now if we can get Palmer to pull his head out of his butt we’d be SB bound.

What else has TJ learned besides the grass aint always greener? How about that the Bengals are good without him? How about that Carson made him valuable and not vice versa? More prima donna and selfishness we don’t need. Unlike earlier Bengal teams, TJ isn’t mature enough to rejoin this winner.

If Seattle cuts him, we could sign him for the league minimum and Seattle would have to pay whatever amount to make up the different to make sure he still makes $7 million this year. He won’t be traded because nobody wants to take on that contract, I say it’d be a smart 1 year signing, since they were planning on having Bryant play the #3 over younger players anyways.

The question is…who would you drop? Shippley looks good. TO and Ocho will start. Caldwell is still young. I love TJ but why would you sign him or trade for him and deny a developing WR a spot.

To the people saying he’s a so called cancer remember this.. You may oe day be thought of as the cancer of comments and regret your words and/or actions. Will you deserve a break for your calousness? He proved his worth, but his lack of worth has never been proven.

TJ would be nice..1 year….1 million with an option for a second year.If he doesn’t whine on the sidelines.

TJ could help the team. I know is was not good for the team in many ways, but I would tell him to keep his mouth shut or he’s gone.

I think that T.J would be nice to have he brings leadership, plus good depth on the team, with him an T.O an Chad, this will add to the best revcing cor in the N.F.L adding him will only help them to get even better,
