In 1998, Stefanie Spielman learned she had breast cancer. As the wife of Chris Spielman, her high school sweetheart, standout Buckeye and NFL football great, Stefanie and Chris decided they had a unique opportunity to share their personal story to raise funds and awareness for research, education and patient care. With the support of the community, two funds were established at Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute to support their goals: The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research and The Stefanie Spielman Patient Assistance Fund.
