Sarah Palin erects a fence…
Here’s the latest on Sarah Palin’s nosy neighbor:
From The New York Times:
“Former Gov. Sarah Palin has erected a 14-foot-high wooden fence at her Wasilla home, making good on a promise to prevent her new neighbor — Joe McGinniss, who is working on a book about her — from peering in. In a Facebook posting this week, Ms. Palin said that the author, who has written a critical magazine story about her, was renting a house next door “for the next five months or so” and wondered what he would gather “while overlooking Piper’s bedroom, my little garden, and the family’s swimming hole.” Mr. McGinniss is the author of such best-sellers as “The Selling of the President” and “Fatal Vision.”

I just saw a clip of, of all people, Bill Maher and Van Jones, taking Sarah Palin’s side in this matter. Jones said protecting one’s family trumps politics and Maher called it “creepy”. Never thought I’d agee with anything those guys had to say.

I think it’s a brillant marketing ploy. But, I think it may call his journalistic ethics into question. Seems a little creepy…

Palin erects a fence? Now only if she’d stay behind it.

Did some more digging and I was wrong about Palin having the option of buying that property, but it also appears that Palin flat out lied about McGinniss’s view. He can actually only see one small corner of her property, and not any of the buildings. The picture Sarah posted to Facebook was taken by Todd while Todd was standing next to McGinniss’s rental house. I’m going to enjoy Joe’s book tremendously because, as I’ve been saying, Sarah Palin is not who or what you think she is. Frankly, after the way she’s been ripping off tea party groups for six figure speaking fees, I’m surprised she has any fans left at all.

Building a fence is the only constructive thing Palin has done in the past two years. Perhaps it would be an interesting headline if Russia built a fence to block her view……But, Palin’s roadshow is so out there even the Tea Party winces at some of her darts and daggers. She gets a free ride in the media because she’s a chick with a voice not unlike finger nails grated across a chalkboard. No one sees McCain, in a tightly contested Arizona race asking for his former running mates’ help……Palin is like a one night stand that refuses to go home wherever that is.

I am sympathetic to Ms. Palin, but at the same time, the neighbor says he rented out the house this way because the Palins were deadbeats who wouldn’t pay their debts for renovations the neighbor make for them. Do you suppose building a fence is cheaper than paying their bills?

Excellent author. I would think she’d be honored he’s willing to do an article or anything else about her.
