Local bluesman Reece Lincoln on the CBS Early Show

An exciting piece of music news slipped by me last week, and I think it deserves some attention.

West Milton blues musician Reece Lincoln and his band, Midnight Son, was recently featured on the CBS Early Show.

Last Monday Midnight Son’s music and performance was shown on the national television show as part of a summer long band competition entitled Live in the Living Room: Battle of the Bands.

Midnight Son was chosen as one of the top 27 bands to make it into the nationwide competition.

Unfortunately, last week they were eliminated from the competition when they lost a online vote from CBS viewers. Producers of the show said that the vote was the closest in the contest history as the band only lost by one percentage point.

In a note to fans posted on Lincoln’s myspace page (myspace.com/reecelincoln) he wrote “Thank you to all our supporters, your incredible, and we know that all of you voted and voted for this small-town band until your wrists were sore.”

Lincoln will be performing on Thursday, July 19th, at the Corner Tavern in West Milton. He will also be performing Next Friday, July 27th, at the Versailles Summer Concert.
