Not Much More Than Awesome Weekend
This weekend is ‘not much more than awesome’ on many fronts in Dayton music.
Of course, the ‘Not Much More then Awesome’ festival at Blind Bob’s on Saturday, June 13th, will be awesome. The doors open at 3 pm and music will begin after 5 pm. There will be two stages with alternating performances so the music will never stop.
Here is the schedule:
5:25 p.m. Amusiac (main stage), 6 p.m. David Payne (stage one), 6:30 p.m. Your Best Friend (main stage), 7:05 p.m. Brandon Hawk (stage one), 7:35 p.m. Hospital Garden (main stage), 8:10 p.m. Kris N. (stage one), 8:40 p.m. A Voice Like Rhetoric (main stage), 9:15 p.m. Mascot (stage one), 9:30 p.m. The 1984 NFL Draft (main stage),10:05 p.m. Outside Residential (stage one), 10:35 p.m. Melty Melty (main stage),11:20 p.m. The Story Changes (main stage), Midnight Orange Willard (main stage)
Also Awesome is the two shows at Canal Street Tavern this weekend.
Saturday will be the return of the Asylum Street Spankers to Canal Street Tavern. The Austin, Texas based band combines ragtime, jazz, folk, and rock with fun and a wide variety of acoustic instruments. The band, who usually visits Dayton for Thanksgiving weekend, is making a rare Summer-time stop in the area. Visit http://asylumstreetspankers.com for more info, videos, and tunes.
On Sunday the one and only Reverend Horton Heat will make his annual stop at Canal Street Tavern. The national rock-a-billy icon is a favorite of mine and always a great show. The Reverend has dedicated this tour, like his last, to collecting money for Nothing But Nets, a organization that provides mosquito nets to people who need them in Africa. //www.reverendhortonheat.com/
