Hospital Garden say “Goodbye Dayton, Hello Chicago”
Hospital Garden is moving to Chicago. Their final Dayton-based show is this Saturday, August 1st, at the South Park Tavern.
In a myspace.com note to some of their fans the band called Saturday’s show a “good-bye party.” They added “we really hope you can make it out. It will be the last time we will see you for a while!”
The popular Dayton indie-rockers have spent the last year charming fans in the Gem City.
In that short time they had become an important part of the Dayton Music Community.
The move to Chicago is sudden and leaves many fans, and myself, devoid of one of our top favorite local bands.
Hospital Garden’s ‘good-bye show’ is being put on by my friends at the Buddha Den and will also feature the Turkish Delights and Electric Banana.
In a post about the show the Buddha Den wrote, “Hospital Garden’s scheduled departure to Chicago this fall saddens us greatly, but we’re very excited for their future. Saturday we will say goodbye with a very special show at South Park Tavern.”
The band’s self-titled 2008 EP is one of my I-Pod most played. I really dig them and will miss seeing them around town.
For those who never had a chance to see Hospital Garden, the band writes loud rock songs with indie-pop cleverness. Check them out here.
I am positive they will succeed in the windy city.
Good Luck guys and girl.
