Fox resolution moved up a month
In what was going to be the trial of the year — well at least the political trial of the year locally — embattled former Butler County politician Michael Fox looks like he’ll not go to trial in April. Instead, he will likely accept a plea deal (because I doubt he’ll plead to the charges as indicted) ending this now 15-month saga.
The federal indictments came out in October 2009 against Fox and the apparent top of the roller coaster in the case will be reached on Wednesday. The story broke Tuesday about Fox’s attorneys requesting a change of plea hearing which (if accepted) will undoubtedly will result in Fox going to jail. How long is uncertain — it could be 20 years or it could be 20 months.
