Fox pleads guilty — is it right or wrong?
Former Butler County politician Michael A. Fox pleaded guilty today on two charges — conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and filing a false tax return, according to court records.

He faces up to four years in federal prison for his part in fiber optics scandal. He will not be fined and the judge did not say when his sentencing hearing will happen — and U.S. District Court Judge Sandra Beckwith could lessen the sentence for the 62-year-old embattled politician.
According to documents filed Wednesday, Fox had faced up to a 20-year sentence for conspiracy charges, a three-year period of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. For the false tax return charge, Fox could have faced three years imprisonment, a one-year period of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
Fox’s co-defendant Robert Schuler, a longtime friend and son of a late state legislator, faces 12 to 18 months of home confinement and a $50,000 fine as part of his agreement after pleading guilty to filing a false tax return.
Former Butler County Commissioner Greg Jolivette said some will be happy with the results and some will be sad. Butler County Commission President Chuck Furmon called Fox a “brilliant politician.”
So, tell me your thoughts.
