Community input is requested
HAMILTON — The community’s input is needed.
The Butler County Family and Children First Council and the Butler County Educational Services Center officials are asking residents to take a comprehensive survey that will help social service agencies best serve them in the future.
“The comprehensive picture will better equip all of us and the service agencies to come up with decisions of how we proceed and provide services and matching resources with services,” Butler County Educational Services Center Superintendent Dan Hare said. “This will provide authentic input from our stakeholders and it will help identify the critical conditions facing our community.”
Hare said this comprehensive look is for the benefit of all county and social service agencies so residents won’t be “bombarded” with surveys and assessments.
“We share in the work, we share in the risk, we share in the resources and we share in the reward,” Hare said.
Jolynn Hurwitz, executive director of Family and Children First Council said: “We think we can get a much richer understanding of the future considerations and conditions for the community if we look at all of our residents.”
Hurwitz said the survey questions are broad and not deep and intended for “an initial snapshot,” so the community reflection is accurate.
Hare and Hurwitz said people can participate in the survey for the next three weeks, and the final analysis will likely be in June.

Detour in St. Clair Twp.
BLOG UPDATE AT 6:22 P.M. APRIL 23: THIS HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE CLOSURE WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR JUNE.
In an attempt to be helpful as well as informative, I’m going to try to include some traffic detours as they come across my desk from the Butler County Engineer’s Office.
Here’s one in St. Clair Twp.:
The Butler County Engineer’s Office will close all four legs of the intersection at Jacksonburg and Morganthaler roads for about a week beginning Monday, May 2 for minor adjustments to the roundabout.
The detour for Jacksonburg Road is: northbound Jacksonburg Road traffic will detour northwest on U.S. 127 and east on Taylor School Road; southbound traffic will reverse this route.
The detour for Morganthaler Road is: eastbound Morganthaler Road traffic will detour south on U.S. 127 and northwest on Trenton Road and Riverside Drive; westbound traffic will reverse this route.
And for those visual people, I’ve included a map. Click the thumbtack for details. Let me know if this helps.
