Palin got a good laugh from Fey’s parody

Republican vice presidential nominee (and Alaska’s sitting governor) Sarah Palin evidently had a good laugh at being parodied in the Saturday Night Live opening skit this weekend.
“She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween,” her spokesperson Tracey Schmitt told CBS News.
In the skit, Fey appeared with Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton and the two talked about sexism in the media and their own ideas about politics. “I don’t agree with the Bush doctrine,” Poehler said at one point. “I don’t know what that is,” Fey added, laughing.
The governor and her traveling press corps watched the show from the campaign plane as it flew from Reno to Denver Saturday night. The premiere was the most watched SNL since Al Gore hosted in 2002. This is Fey’s third guest appearance since she left the show in 2006.
Don’t know about you, but I thought the rest of the show stunk. Maybe it was the bad taste leftover from watching the OSU game.

Jennifer Lopez completes triathlon. Yay.

She’s been talking about this for weeks — kind of like the VMAs — and we’re sick of hearing about it, so we’re all glad it’s over. Yes, Jennifer Lopez successfully completed the Nautica Malibu Triathlon at Zuma Beach on Sunday (Sept. 15) in a very respectable 2 hours, 23 minutes, 28 seconds. Not that we’re counting.
Marc Anthony, her husband, cheered on from the sidelines and escorted her to a VIP area with his arm securely around her after she crossed the finish line, exhausted, but with her fists pumped in victory. In the VIP area, fellow triathlete Matthew McConaughey gave Lopez, 39, a hug.

Jennifer Hudson to marry her Punk

Jennifer Hudson and boyfriend, David Otunga, are engaged. The proposal — and acceptance — came Friday night in Los Angeles on Hudson’s 27th birthday.
Otunga, best known as “Punk” from the reality show “I Love New York 2,” popped the question with a Neil Lane diamond ring. They’ve been dating for less than a year, but they’re both from Chicago, so they’ve got that going for them.
Hudson’s debut solo album, Jennifer Hudson, will be in stores Sept. 30, and her next film, The Secret Life of Bees opens Oct. 17. Hudson won an Oscar for her role in “Dreamgirls.”
