TweetDick Clark’s ‘Rockin’ Eve’ days might be numbered
Everyone knows that New Year’s Eve is pretty blah without the world’s oldest teenager.
There might be blah days ahead.
Dick Clark, who recently celebrated his 80th b-day, will once again help Ryan Seacrest and Fergie usher in the New Year during ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2010,” according to USA Today.
Clark, who still suffers some effects of a stroke in 2004, said the event remains exciting, but he doesn’t know if he’ll be back to help host the show next year.
“I still haven’t made up my mind. I still enjoy the honor of sharing in so many people’s annual celebration. I wish my delivery was crisp and clean, but due to my stroke I’m happy that Ryan Seacrest now carries the heavier load,” he told the newspaper.
Who is your favorite New Year’s countdown host?

TweetShould Levi, Bristol or hungry Chia Pets get custody of baby Tripp?
Poor, poor, poor Tripp.
Like brides-to-be at a wedding dress sample sale, Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin are fighting it out over the 1-year-old’s custody.
And you thought the feud between Johnston’s clan and the family of former Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin could possibly end before Tripp’s 18th birthday.
According to the “Anchorage Daily News,” Bristol Palin, Sarah Palin’s daughter, filed a petition in November seeking child support and full custody of Tripp.
Johnston would get only scheduled visitation. His mother, Sherry Johnston, would be barred from seeing the baby unsupervised.
Bristol Palin said she and her family take care of Tripp.
Immature Levi, on the other hand, runs around half naked working on his ‘celebrity career,’ Palin claims.
The reality show-seeking Johnston apparently is more willing to play somewhat nicer. He wants to share custody of Tripp with Bristol.
This week a judge denied Bristol Palin’s attempt to keep the case confidential.

TweetWho was the worst fake celebrity of 2009?
Faux celebrities (you know, people famous for no apparent reason) cemented a place in our hearts this year as they worked diligently to turn fifteen minutes of fame into two or three train wrecks.
Photos of 2009’s fake celebrities
Newsworthy events like Speidi’s fight with Al Roker and the release of Octomom’s Octo-belly captured the headlines in 2009 and made life that much more lifeless.
We tried to look away, but couldn’t. How could we? There was always a slim chance Levi Johnston would mud wrestle Sarah Palin.
The year’s crop of fake “stars” made us long for the days when Cher and Prince were running around with her bums out.
Now those were good times.
The whole thing begs one pressing question: who was the worst fake celebrity of 2009?

TweetAmy Winehouse arrested at Cinderella performance, calls the Ugly Sisters ‘Bs’
Just when we thought she was mellowing out (sort of) here comes news that Amy Winehouse has been arrested and at a fairytale no less.
According to The Times Online, the 26-year-old soul singer got into a scrap with a manager at Milton Keynes Theatre in London during a performance of Cinderella Saturday, Dec. 19.
The site says she called the Ugly Sisters b$#@es and repeatedly shouted “He’s f*ing behind you!”
Winehouse was charged under the name Amy Civil with a public order offense and common assault, according to the Associated Press.
Perhaps Mrs. Civil wasn’t in the ” happily ever after” mood.
The legally-troubled “Rehab” singer was granted a divorce from her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, in July.
Winehouse is free on bail. She is set to appear in court Jan. 20.

TweetDid prescription drugs abuse lead to Brittany Murphy’s death?
The coroner’s report is far from complete, but pathologist Cyril Wecht is certain actress Brittany Murphy died the way of Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith and so many other stars - prescription drug misuse.
Wecht appeared on CBS’ “Early Show” Tuesday, Dec. 22. He said young starlets just don’t drop dead.
“When you have a 32-year-old person dying suddenly, and especially a celebrity in Los Angeles, you can place your bet down that it’s going prove to be a case of acute combined drug toxicity,” he said, later adding that some of the drugs found in Murphy’s home have been linked to other celebrity deaths.
Wecht predicted that it will be learned that prescriptions where written for Murphy in fictitious names as well as in the name of her family members.
An autopsy had been conducted on Murphy and officials were awaiting the results of toxicology and tissue testing before determining a final cause of death.
Early indications are that Murphy died of natural causes related to her heart.
I guess it depends on what you mean by ‘natural causes.’

Fat chance you’ll find the SNL clip of comic Abby Elliott’s impersonation of Brittany Murphy.
In the wake of the Murphy’s sudden death Sunday (her family says she was ill for several days) , the-not-so-funny-now clip has been removed from YouTube.com, Hulu and the Saturday Night Live website.

The New York Daily News jotted down text of the clip before it was yanked.
It went something like this:
Elliott playing Murphy: “I’m really honored to be here hosting ‘Saturday Night Live.’”
Weekend Update host Seth Meyers: “No, Brittany, you’re not hosting.”
Elliott playing Murphy on being fired from the movie: “I got a plan… When the movie comes out, I’m going to go to the theater and say, ‘Booooo.’ And then the audience will join in and say, ‘Boo’ Best plan ever.”

TweetCast your vote: What was the most scandalous story of 2009?
Scandal here, scandal there, in 2009 scandal was everywhere.
From the break up of a very large family ( Jon and Kate) to a hoax involving a kid with a sensitive stomach (Balloon Boy) , there was much nonsense to distract a stressed nation this year.
Lord knows there were more important things going on in the world, but seriously, who can resist a good scandal every now and again.
Pop culture gossip is like creme brulee on a rainy day. Besides, it gives you something to talk about.

Will Tiger and his transgressions win the day or will it be the sudden and suspicious death of the King of Pop?

TweetWas Jessica Simpson one of Tiger’s cubs?
Jessica Simpson is a lot of things, but a home-wrecking alley cat apparently isn’t one of them.
The pop singer/”actress” is fighting mad about “Star” magazine’s reports that she and Tiger Woods flirted and exchanged email addresses and phone numbers, according to the Chicago Sun Times.
She may sue the supermarket tabloid.
One of Simpson’s friends reportedly told the Times that Simpson ‘‘never would have done such a thing, because she knew all about Tiger and his cheatin’ ways.’’
Apparently Jessica isn’t the only woman who wants to get far, far away from Tiger.

TweetPoll: Who was the biggest jerk of the 2009?
It’s too bad jerk energy can not be bottle and sold on the international market.
If it were, America’s economic recession would have lasted a mere weekend.
I declare 2009 ‘year of the jerk.’ Jerk lover should be pleased.
We enjoyed a fruitful harvest of jerkiness.
There was Tiger and his naughty cubs, Balloon Boy’s whacked out dad, Kanye West being Kanye West, bad dad Jon Gosselin and icky Octomom.
With so many (fill in the blanks) to choose from, it was pretty tough to narrow down a list of top jerks of 2009.
We gave it our best.

TweetPlaygirl won’t print naked Tiger photos
Here’s bad news for those hoping to spot a naked alley cat covered in plastic.
Playgirl won’t publish nude photos of a man believed to be golfing great Tiger Woods, according to PEOPLE.com.
“Playgirl has decided to turn down the alleged Tiger Woods nude photos, reportedly taken by camera phone by Woods himself. They were impossible to one 100 percent verify, hence the unwillingness to go there,” Daniel Nardicio, the director of marketing for the online adult magazine, told PEOPLE.
The world may not see Tiger naked (not that we want to anyway).
A British court last week barred outlets there from publishing nude photos of Woods if they exist.
In other news from the Tiger’s den, global consulting firm Accenture announced Sunday that it is ending its sponsorship of Woods.
Accenture is the first sponsor to cut ties altogether with Woods since his marital troubles came to light and since a statement Friday that the 33-year-old is taking an indefinite leave from golf to work on his marriage, the Associated Press says.

TweetNo Tiger in the buff! Lawyers block publication of nude photos
Without admitting that they exist, lawyers for Tiger Woods have managed to block the release of nude photos featuring the millionaire golfer, according to The Cleveland Leader.
The High Court of London ruled Thursday that British outlets can not publish any potential nude photos or videos of Woods.
According to the Leader, Woods’ attorney send the following statement to publications and bloggers across the pond:
“This Order is not to be taken as an admission that any such photographs exist. TweetTiger Woods mistress #99: ‘I didn’t even get a birthday card’
What’s the point of being a home wrecker if you can’t even get plastic surgery out of it.
Jamie Jungers, one of about 1 million women who claim an affair with Tiger Woods, told Today show host Meredith Vieira that she fell in love with the married, millionaire golfer during a sexual liaison in 2005.
Check out a ridiculous Tiger Woods sex scandal video.

Jungers said she knew the skirt chasing alley cat has a wife at home, but always sort of had a crush on him.
She said she thought the relationship would amount to a one-night stand, but it evolved into a boyfriend/girlfriend thing that Woods didn’t try to hide.
Jungers denied she was an escort and media reports that Woods paid her for sex or financed her liposuction.
“I didn’t even get a birthday card,” the 26-year-old Las Vegas cocktail waitress/ lingerie model said. “I got nothing out of this relationship but a broken heart.”
Yeah … cry me a river.
More of the interview with Jungers will air during “The Secret Life of Tiger Woods,” 9 p.m. Today, Friday, Dec. 11 on NBC’s “Dateline.”

TweetBilly Joel and Christie Brinkley fire back at ‘vicious lies’ about daughter
They maybe divorced, but Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley are united in the fight against what they are calling false reports about their 23-year-old daughter.
The superstar former couple says that a New York Post story about their daughter’s recent suicide attempt was “filled with vicious lies and attempts to smear our character and that of our beloved daughter,” the Associated Press reports.
In an article Tuesday, Dec. 8, The Post claimed Alexa Ray Joel attempted suicide after a fight with her mother during a family vacation ‘from hell’ in Turks and Caicos.
Brinkley and Joel asked the public and media to consider the source before drawing conclusions.
The mean-spirited article makes Brinkley sound like a mix between Joan Crawford and Freddy Krugger.
It claimed the supermodel bashed Billy Joel constantly and urged her daughter to stay “slim at all costs” even if it meant spitting out brownies.
Now what kind of psycho would spit out a brownie?

TweetListen to 911 call for Tiger Woods’ mother-in-law
Good gosh, as if Elin Nordegren didn’t have enough trouble with an alleged cat chasing husband on her hands.
It seems the former model and wife of super star golfer Tiger Woods is the woman who called 911 to her home Tuesday, Dec. 8, to report that a woman had fainted.
“Oh my God, my mom just collapsed,” a frantic woman believed to be Elin told a 911 dispatcher. “She collapsed in the bathroom. What do I do?”
The New York Post obtained a copy of the 911 tape. Hear it below.
The woman said she heard her mother fall and ran into the bathroom.
Elin’s mother Barbro Holmberg was taken to the hospital from Tiger Woods’ Orlando-area mansion. She was later released.
Tiger Woods has apparently followed a long line of powerful/well-known men who cheat. And of course it has nothing to do with looks (Tiger’s wife was a frackin’ model). Why do you think they do it?

TweetRachael Ray to air update show on local community
“The Rachael Ray Show” will update its viewers on Wilmington during a segment set to run 12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, on WKEF-TV channel 22.
Ray received such an overwhelming response to her Thanksgiving show taped in Wilmington that she wanted to update her audience about what has happened since, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Ray hosted a Thanksgiving dinner in Wilmington last month.
Cincinnati native and former 98 Degrees member Nick Lachey also appeared as did HGTV stars Carter Oosterhouse and Kahi Lee.
Oosterhouse, host of “Carter Can” overhauled the kitchen at Sugartree Ministry Center.
Center director Allen Willoughby will appear on Ray show Wednesday. The soup kitchen received a year’s supply of food from Sarah Lee.
The show will include additional stories from Wilmington, including the show’s visit to an animal shelter.
Wilmington residents were rocked when DHL, that community’s major employer, announced last year that it was leaving.
The company has ceased most operations there.
Comedian Jay Leno in May preformed two free shows there as part of Jay’s Comedy Stimulus Plan.

TweetTiger Woods’ mother-in-law admitted to hospital
From the Associated Press
OCOEE, Fla. - Tiger Woods’ mother-in-law was admitted to a hospital with stomach pains early Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said.
Someone called 911 from the golfer’s Orlando-area mansion about 2:35 a.m.
Barbro Holmberg was taken by ambulance to Health Central Hospital, where she was in stable condition later Tuesday, hospital spokesman Dan Yates said. He said her condition was not serious but he could not be more specific because of privacy laws.
Holmberg, who arrived in the U.S. a few days ago, lives in Sweden and is the mother of Woods’ wife, Elin.
Health Central is the same hospital where Woods was treated after he crashed his sport utility vehicle outside his home last month.
Yates said Holmberg was in a private room and the family has hired additional security to keep the media away. He said family members have visited her, but he would say who.
“She’s in a wing that helps protect her privacy,” Yates said.
Media attention has been focused on the world’s No. 1 golfer since he hit a hydrant and a tree around 2:25 a.m. on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
The Florida Highway Patrol last week cited Woods for careless driving and fined him $164.
The accident - and Woods’ refusal to answer questions about it - fueled speculation about a possible dispute between him and Elin.
Just days before the crash, a National Enquirer story alleged Woods had been seeing a New York nightclub hostess, Rachel Uchitel, who has denied it. After the crash, Us Weekly reported that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress named Jaimee Grubbs claims she had a 31-month affair with Woods.
Last week, Woods issued a statement saying he had let his family down with unspecified “transgressions” that he regrets with “all of my heart.” He did not elaborate.
A police report on the crash released Monday showed that a Florida trooper who suspected Woods was driving under the influence sought a subpoena for the golfer’s blood results from the hospital he was taken to after the crash, but prosecutors rejected the petition for insufficient information.
A witness, who wasn’t identified in the report, told trooper Joshua Evans that Woods had been drinking alcohol earlier. The same witness also said Woods had been prescribed two drugs, Ambien and Vicodin.
The report did not say who the witness was but added it was the same person who pulled Woods from the vehicle after the accident. Woods’ wife, Elin, has told police that she used a golf club to smash the back windows of the Cadillac Escalade to help her husband out. His injuries were minor.
The sister of a neighbor who called 911 after the crash told troopers that Holmberg and Woods’ mother, were also at the scene, but the AP has not been able to confirm that.
Eva Malmborg, a spokeswoman for Holmberg, said she could not comment on Tuesday’s reports.
Malmborg confirmed Holmberg had taken a week’s leave from her job as Gavleborg county governor in central-east Sweden, but said she did not know where Holmberg had gone.
There was no sign of emergency workers later Tuesday morning at the Woods’ gated community, where luxury SUVs and cars drove in and out as a few reporters and television news trucks milled around outside.

TweetKatt Williams questioned after Walmart ruckus
Looks like Katt Williams is rolling back the crazy, but maybe this time he is an innocent “pimp.”
The Dayton-raised comic’s bizarro run-ins with the law continue.
He was questioned today, Friday, Dec. 4, by police in connection to an incident in the parking lot of a Georgia Walmart, according to online reports.
Details are sketchy to say the lest.
Here are a couple we dug up:
Police in Newnan, Ga. responded to disturbance calls around 2 p.m. at a Walmart there, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
According to WSBTV.com, Shirley and Tony Williams, the mother and brother of Katt Williams’ girlfriend Yolanda, were charged with disorderly conduct.
Shirley and Tony Williams allegedly confronted Katt Williams and accused him of endangering Yolanda’s welfare, the TV station reports. It noted that the “Norbit” star was questioned, but not charged.
Police said that Katt Williams was not armed, but that’s not what 911 callers - a woman and a man - lead them to believe, TMZ said.
One 911 caller said the incident involved a problem with Williams and someone pulled out a shotgun, according to a 911 tape posted on TMZ.com.
It was not immediately clear who made the calls.
You can probably come up with some suspects.
Georgia law has not been kind to Williams this year.
He was arrested Monday, Nov. 9, in Georgia and charged with burglary and criminal trespassing.
The pint-sized funnyman is best known for roles in “First Sunday,” “Friday After Next,” Eddie Murphy’s “Norbit, ” the HBO special “Katt Williams: Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1,” and Comedy Central’s celebrity roasts.

TweetWill Taylor Swift best Beyonce at Grammys?
Bouncy and Taylor will square up where it really counts - the Grammy Awards.
Beyonce is nominated for 10 Grammys while Taylor is up for eight.
Both are in the running in the all-important “Record of the Year,” “Album of the Year” and Song of the Year” categories.
Grammy Awards air Jan. 31 on CBS.
Click here for complete list of nominees.
Watching music awards has been a sporting event of sorts since kooky Kanye West “stole” Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV’s Video Music Awards earlier this year.
West announced that he thought Beyonce should have won the award for Best Female Video instead of Swift.
Swift bested the late Michael Jackson, Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga and Eminem for Artist of the Year at the 2009 American Music Awards.
Can’t wait to see who Adam Lambert kisses this time.

TweetIs Tiger’s alleged cat chasing any of our business?
It turns out that Tiger isn’t so purrr-fect after all.
Tiger Woods apologized Wednesday for “transgressions” that he regrets with all of his heart.
Watch Chinese news agency’s CGI re-enactment below
Rumor has it that the “transgressions” had the golfing great running around with several foxes while his wife took care of the cubs.
Tiger crashed his car outside his Florida home last week. The shocking crash deepened speculation about problems within his marriage to former model Elin Nordegren.
It also gave everyone something to talk about with their families during the long Thanksgiving holiday.
We are clearly interested, but is it any of our business?
