Leno coming back swinging - Jamie Foxx, Sarah Palin, “Jersey Shore” cast

It will likely take some doing to get a Conan-deprived nation Jaywalking again.

Embattled comic Jay Leno is offering just that his first week back as “Tonight Show” host, according to his website.

He’s even bring out Sarah “using the R-word is wrong” Palin.

Question is will it be enough to erase all memories of the Tonight Show fiasco that had everyone taking sides last month (Team Jay vs. Team Conan vs Team NBC Stinks ).

The guest list for Leno’s first show Monday, March 1, includes Jamie Foxx, Olympic Gold Medal Skier Lindsey Vonn and a musical performance by Brad Paisley.

Palin is up Tuesday with Olympic Gold Medal Snowboarder Shaun White.

The super classy cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” Avril Lavigne Chelsea Handler, Speed Skater Apolo Anton Ohno will be guest on Wednesday.

Matthew McConaughey and Jason Reitman will stop by Thursday and Morgan Freeman and Meredith Vieira finish off the week.

Guests the following week include Simon Cowell, Judd Apatow, Christoph Waltz, Kim Kardashian, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and Colbie Caillat.

What do you think? Is the line up strong enough?

While I certainly do not believe in limiting speech, what is so wrong with not wanting to use “the R word”. In todays society people get ridiculed for using the “n” word or gay, but if Sarah Palin says dont use the “r” word then it is a big joke. Lets get rid of double standards and keep free speech!

I reallywish Johnny was still alive and on late night. Not knocking Jay, enjoyhim wayover Letterman, but if I miss these people on Leno, they will be showing up on Leterman later in the week. The Guest are jusr reruns from allthe other talk shows. Why don’t they just book people we have never heard of before? They would be ones with more to say. Paris- so 1999, Pam Anderson. So 1988, Dr Oz. So Oprah. Kim K. So who cares. See what I mean. HEY lets put on these cheesy Jersey people and hope viewers tune in. Nay I have Direct TV, will tune in Pawn Stars.. Thanks for watching and the last person in the studio turn off the lights.

Family Guy decided to make fun of special needs children just to get in a tv fight with Palin and up their ratings. I use to watch this show, not anymore. It’s never okay to make fun of children just because you can. It’s not funny.

I might want to watch this episode. I like Sarah. She’s honest, I agree with her morals, and I agree with the majority of her political views. I would like to see Glenn Beck run for Prez or Vice Prez, but I know that’s just dreaming. We need to get this country back on track.

Beck & Palin for Pres & VP. I’m sure Beck’s products would sell a lot more, so he be happy since as an entertainer and businessman that’s what he’s after…just look at his website. And Palin, I’m not sure what sort of views her supports share…on one side of her mouth she all religious but on the other side she’s against every goverment program for helping the poor. I think she’d rather have the churches take their “tithe” 10% and have them waste it on satellite broadcasts. It’s truly amazing how right wingers can profess to have “family values” and then cut every program out there to help families.

Yeah, how dare conservatives want a job. You know who generates jobs? Rich people who own businesses. Poor people don’t hire people. Conservatives aren’t against helping families, but against high taxes. High taxes kill businesses and thus, kills jobs. That’s why our unemployment is hovering around 10%, because taxes are too high. Wouldn’t it be better for families if they can find jobs to support themselves vs. going on welfare or unemployment? $ is going to run out sometime, probably sooner rather than later.

Sarah Palin’s morals… and common sense? Really…. Please! I will not be watching Leno that night. Who is next? Ann Coulter?

The fact is that private companies are not hiring. Rich people are not hiring anyone, but shuffling their money to various investments to increase their estate. The only ones getting rich are the rich. If you think taxes are too high, what percent federal tax did you pay this year?? I’m not willing (as I guess you are) for having folks making millions of dollars per year without creating a single job from paying their fair share of taxes. If high taxes kill jobs as you say, then why did unemployment tank at the end of Bush’s presidency and even in 2009 taxes went down and no jobs were created, so your agrument there is false. During the booming Bush years they should have raised taxes and then during economic downturns like now there would be money in the bank. That’s what individuals do…save money in the bank for emergencies. Instead the Bush Administration spent it all during the good years and now that we’re in an economic downturn we don’t have an emergency fund. Trying to save money now by cutting the debt is like telling a family who just lost their job to double their house payment…crazy!

Tax breaks for the rich to create jobs by taking away assistance for the poor…and what happens when in reality the rich folks don’t use their extra $$ to create jobs…then what??????

Palin is a total hypocrite. While she excoriated Rahm Emmanuel for using the “R” word, she defended Rush Limbaugh’s repeated use of the same word. She is just using her child to score publicity points.

If I were a rich person with a business I would move to a country where the taxes aren’t as high as they are here in America. That’s why businesses/jobs are moving to Mexico. It doesn’t take a genius to recognize that Obama has way outspent the Bush administration. Obama is in another dimension when it comes to spending spree with our tax $. We can’t afford healthcare $1 trillion, and he knows it. Yet he’s still pushing his HC bill even though millions can’t find jobs to even pay their taxes. Obama isn’t looking out for the common American. If he was, he wouldn’t be sending our stimulus $ and jobs to China, Japan, India, and Germany.

I’ll bet Jelane would also accuse Palin of having the special needs baby for political gain (vs. killing the baby or ABORTING it). That’s just plain ignorant. I’m sure Sarah loves her child, and it’s just plain wrong to make fun of anyone with special needs just because you can. Family Guy lost me as a viewer. I think it is mean spirited and immoral to make fun of a child like this.

Someone please explain to me why it is okay for a man with a bunch of kids to get a huge tax rebate when he didn’t pay that much in taxes, but someone who is single and working is paying more and not getting tax breaks because they have no children. Why is that fair? Why is it society’s responsibility to feed, clothe, house people just because they are great babymakers? Our nation is gives loads of money to the poor in other countries. Perhaps we should take care of our own first. Lower our taxes, then we’ll be able to find a job and provide for our families w/o expecting handouts from our daddy gov’t.

WHY you ask…because it the right and moral thing to do. It’s called helping out each other. Your views are very selfish. So you’re for increase taxes for families with kids…that makes sense! Jobs have been going to Mexico during the Bush years in record numbers. The healthcare plans would save money by reducing the huge cost of ER care…or are you for turning away folks from the ER who can’t pay? If we wouldn’t have wasted so much $$ in Iraq & Afgh in military contracts we would not be in as much financial trouble as we are now too. Conservatives dug us in a deep hole that will take years to pull out of.

I doubt Palin would ever be a contender. Down in TX she only received 7% of the vote in a conservative straw man. I think conservates are embarassed by her more than anyone but cannot admit it in public.

February 23, 2010 2:49 PM | Link to this

Right now I pay over 10% of my income in health care premiums, co-pays, etc. I’d rather pay 8% to the government and have a single payer system that eliminates all the waste of insurance companies. Every little doctor or dental office has to pay a full time person just to process insurance paperwork, plus all the waste of having insurance companies. I had great health care while in the Air Force by doctors and staff who had more time for patients since they didn’t have to worry about filing insurance claims. The real bad guys aren’t in the government, but in the insurance, banking, big oil and defense industries, but they trick the simple-minded conservative constituents to support them through religious and other trickery means…makes me sick.

George Bush looks good right about now. I didn’t agree with all of his politics, but he didn’t steer our country towards socialism and try to spend $1 trillion on HC when millions of citizens are out of work. Bush would do what Reagan did, lower taxes. We’d already be out of this recession and people would be working again if Bush were still prez.
