Kate Gosselin defends her right to work

Kate Gosselin defended her right to work in reality TV today, April 14, despite her ex’s claims that she is an absentee mom.

The current “Dancing with the Stars” contestant told “Today” show host Meredith Vieira her upcoming show with TLC, “Twist of Kate,” will benefit her family.

“I don’t see another option. I have eight children to provide for and this is a great opportunity,’ she said. “Its certainly not going to cut the mustard being a nurse working 12-hour shifts, six days a week. I wouldn’t see the kids anymore than I see them now.”

More over, Gosselin said she enjoys her work.

Jon Gosselin filed for sole custody of the children last week, claiming in part that Kate never had time for her brood.

During her appearance today, Kate Gosselin, the author of the new book “I Just Want You to Know,” admitted she was harsh with Jon and said she has learned to watch what she says.

“I learned that in the heat of the moment I have a sharp tongue, and looking back there are probably a lot of people that I love that I probably spoke to inappropriately,” she said.

The only reason her ex is even doing this is because she’s in the limelight right now, not him. How is what Kate’s doing any different than any other celeb mom going on location for several weeks/months to do a movie or a tv show? I’m sure nannies are helping raise lots of kids. I’m no big Kate lover but leave her be, I believe she’s just trying to generate income and being on DWTS will do that.

She proved one thing. She sure can generate kids. If nuirsing is her profession then go and do that. Her talent must lie there because it sure isn’t anywhere else.

Given her demonstrated relationship skills, i doubt that her talent is nursing. In our profession, you must respect the boundaries of others to be effective. Also, we dont want any nurse working 6-12 hour shifts per week. That would make them exhausted and unable to exercise critical thought. Probably would have been wise to think about how to afford 8 kids before having them.

Having people follow you around your home and life with cameras is NOT a talent. The sooner we all acknowledge this, the sooner Kate and others like her will fade from view. She’s already had way more than her 15 minutes.

John has live in chick..leaves Kate alone. John loses live in chick…has to stir the post with Kate cause he has nothing else going on. Both of these two are a shingle shy of a space shuttle.

Why does the DDN take comments on this ditz, and not on the punk that got his clock cleaned by the Sheriff’s Deputies in Jefferson Township? That smart A—punk should have had his head his head pealed with an ASP! As his sister should! Wake up America!

Thing is…Kate could go back to nursing and have a reputable career both she and her family can be proud of…instead of selling her soul to make a fool of herself and a laughing stock to the world. She’s NOT a dancer…she’s NOT an actress. She’s a common mid-western girl that obviously had high goals for herself and her family at one time, but has fallen into the greed/glamorous life that she feels she’s too “big” to come back from. Come off your high horse, Kate…and return to your roots before it’s too late!! BTW, I’m a nurse in the mid-west, too…and 3-12 hour shifts a week is what you work…NOT 6.
