What’s your favorite thing about the holidays?
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays?
MICHELLE FORSYTHE, Centerville: “I think probably the food, spending time with the kids, and giving the kids lots of presents and seeing their faces on Christmas morning.”
MICHAEL BOWSER, Centerville: “The sharing and the people coming together.”
ARLISHA FLOYD, Dayton: “It ain’t spending money! Spending time with my family, and being off work. And the food.”
RON HAUSFELD, Fort Loramie: “I guess everybody’s attitude; they’re a lot more laid back. Not as many people seem uptight and stressed out. Everybody’s happier — till you get the credit-card bill.”
VELINA RANKIN, Centerville: “Her! (pointing to her mother). She’s my favorite part of every day. She’s my best friend.”

My favorite thing of the holiday is the day after. Seriously. All of the running around is done and you can typically relax with out-of-town family that is still there and all the pressure of the holiday itself is gone.

I suppose it is the day after when everything is quiet and you can listen to old Christmas Carols by Perry Como, Bing Crosby, etc. I use that day to sit by the tree and watch old movies. I lost my Father & my Cousin I grew up with in one year about three years ago and I like to think of how wonderful times we had together.

This year it was “ol nutzo” trying to tackle The Pope prior to Midnight Mass at The Vatican. There’s nothing like a mentally unstable Roman Catholic to add a little excitement to a normally methodic ordeal. I’m happy the Pope is O.K., but feel bad for the Bishop that broke a few bones. Ahhhh…..the drama of Roman Catholicism adds much to the season!

WTF!! Today I received a answering message from 9722840600 / 972-284-0600 and was pretty sure the caller was a scammer. I’m so sick and tired of promotional calls - I decided to complain to the the company (Gulf Coast Western) and yell. You will never believe it… Gulf Coast Western -the oil drilling corporation- contacted me to approve my job application - apparently I got the job! How do I fix this??
