Are April Fools gags just for kids, or do you know adults who still like April 1st pranks?
BARB DIERKERS, Harrison Twp.: “I know adults that still do it. I’ve pulled them on my husband. But it should not be mean-spirited, just funny. When I was teaching, my kids taped pennies to the desk and laughed when you tried to pick them up.”
SHERRI TAYLOR, Union: “I know adults that still do them, and it’s fun to realize that, after 48 years, I can still be tricked by them. I didn’t realize what day it was, and they still got me.”
JEFF RUTLEDGE, Dayton: “Everybody I know tries to do them, because they’re fun. There is not enough humor in our society anymore. It’s a harmless, affectionate thing among friends and family. We need more of that kind of personal exchange.”
JOHN GAYDOSH, Centerville: “I still know people who do pranks — even outside of April. I think pranks are always a good thing.”
ANNE DUNBAR, Huber Heights: “I don’t think it should be just for kids. It’s fun to do a safe, clean April Fools joke on somebody.”
TIM FITZGERALD, Dayton: “I would just hate to have been born on that day. I think of April Fools when it looks like it’s warm and nice for planting your garden, but it’s really too early to do that.”

My wife and I just got back from Florida. We drove. I just announced on Facebook that we won Georgia Lottery’s “Win for Life” (250,000.00/yr. for 30 years) on a ticket bought while getting gas south of Atlanta. Let’s see who crawls out of the wood work…who we haven’t heard from in years…and how much money they want. This should be interesting. Happy April Fools Day!!!

My husband is the master of the April Fools’ prank… this year, he posted an, “I’m quitting!” message on a forum for a game that he’s heavily involved with online, with a very clear hint that it was an April Fools’ joke — but the number of people who missed the obvious hint… hilarous to read the reactions. Last year, while we were working heavily with the local independent wrestling companies, he made up a “show flier” for a fake show on April 1st… including such matches as “Loser has to read a book match,” and so forth. It was amazing the number of people who believed it, and e-mailed him asking where the show was going to be held.
