Have you made any “guilty pleasure” purchases lately?
CHRISTINE HALL, Beavercreek Twp.: “My new loom. Not only have I taken on a new art form, but I have met many wonderful people in my weaving club and in the Miami Valley Weavers Guild.”
ALICIA PRETTY, Miamisburg: “This purse. I got it from an antique store in Waynesville.”
KEVIN BLACKBURN, Bellbrook: “My iPhone. It was worth it, absolutely. I got it in August, so I’m probably due for another purchase.”
GRACE ROBERTSON, Dayton: “Jewelry — any kind, if it’s nice and it strikes my fancy. It has to call to me.”
SHERRY MILLER, Miamisburg: “I bought a purse. I liked it, and it was on sale.”
JEFF POST, Springboro: “No. Everything I’ve bought lately has been for my girlfriend or my kids.”

Yes. Box of 4 Apple Fritters, Wal-Mart, only $2.50… that’s only 62.5 cents each, so they’re less expensive than the items in the vending machines at work.

Why would people feel guilty about spending money they earn on something that gives them pleasure?

Haven’t made any guilty purchases lately, trying to save. If you have a problem with Obama at this point, you are just not paying attention to the facts. Which of Bush’s policies were successful? The one where everyone but the middle class stops paying taxes? Yeah, you sure traded the cow for that pile of magic beans, and now you’re paying interest on it.

Every time I fill up at the pump is like a major purchase. Thank this administration for the skyrocketing oil/gas and energy prices. Monetizing $2.4 trillion and sitting on oil drilling permits only helps those who are intentionally attempting to overwhelm our economy and overthrow our Republic. Seriously, why else would Obama send billions to Brazil for drilling there? Can any progressive answer that one question? I’ve got a bunch more questions just like that one. No, I haven’t made any guilty purchases.

Yeah, the nursing field has always paid pretty well. You may not be feeling the strain of the recession, but people who might need to find a job are. I am a contractor and when my contract ends, I have to find another job. I hope my contract is renewed, but if it isn’t, I’ll be one of those people looking for a job again. This is not a good time not to have a job. But if you are a nurse, I guess you are just all set. Maybe since things are going so well for you, you should pray for others who are more dependent on a strong economy for their livelihood. Paying $60+ to fill up our gas tank is hard for some Americans. And Obama wants to add a gas tax so that we can all pay more for our gas. Even more than what it is rising, every day it seems the price is going up for gas…maybe we’ll hit $11/gal?

Yes. Money normally set aside for heart meds was needed this month for gas due to inordinate number of doctor visits. So, I had to pay for heart meds with money I was saving to buy Easter candy for my grandchildren. This was a difficult “choice” as it somehow made me feel unworthy as a grandmother. Then I saw the delimma facing the lady one register away and felt better about my “choice.” Poor thing had to use foodstamp money to purchase steaks and crab legs just to provide her family a good meal on Easter. Assing salt to the wound, the cashier denied her requests to ring up the case of Budweiser as a food item so she could use foodstamp money for it too, and she had to pay cash for the beer. Then she stopped on her way home and bought an acoustic guitar for $50.00. Give me a break!

I think praying is a great thing to do. Be grateful for what you have and happy. Things that money can not buy are the most important. Things will get better just ride through, change is constant and the dust will settle in time. It always does.

I bought a quart of the new ice cream by Ben & Jerry’s. It’s vanilla and “choc-lit”, full of fruits & nuts, all ingredients were grown on a communist test collective farm run by our Justice Department, and it’s called “Baracky Road”.

Once again, I browsed before buying while trying to get out the door without buying more guns for defense and for fun, a brand-new .22 caliber Marlin Model 60SB semi-automatic stainless steel rifle with scope attached and ready to shoot. It looks good and the stock is wood. I regret not spending my riches on guns instead of drugs, booze and bitches/’hos, thirty or so years ago.

Getreal is a jack axx hole. Seriously, your blog is a joke. I don’t think it is fun to make fun of people who have to use foodstamps. And BTW I have a great job right now and am doing just fine. I’m not on foodstamps. I didn’t qualify for them when I was unemployed, neither. You are such a dork. Seriously. Maybe one day you will qualify for foodstamps, especially if this prez stays in power with his job killing policies and his socialist redistribution of our money out of our country. Seriously, what is up with the lack of drilling oil permits in America? But it’s okay to send Brazil billions of our tax dollars for drilling there? What kind of political driver would do that? Socialism? Overthrowing our Republic? That’s what I think it is.

$100 on Monday to fill up my tank @ $4.19/gallon. I now have less than 1/4 tank left. Ho hum. Guess I won’t be hitting that fabulous Old Navy sale for new pants.

If you asked me last month, I would have said parts for my bicycle to commute to work with. Instead, I wish I did it last year (I still put 1500 miles on it last year). Now, I bought Portal 2 for my computer, and I have Duke Nukem on the list this summer.

Two weeks ago I bought a new truck, it was well worth it and even as gas prices continue to climb I will never get rid of it or regret driving it. I will only regret driving it when I pull in to the gas station…it has a hemi

What I wouldnt give to have a debate with you about this. You just say so many things that arrive from nowhere that Im fairly certain Id have a fair shot. Your blog is wonderful visually, I mean people wont be bored. But others who can see past the videos and the layout wont be so impressed together with your generic understanding of this subject.
