‘The Redeemer’ strikes again

THE NEWEST BENGAL,

‘JUGGERNAUT’ MAUI’A,

ARRESTED IN APRIL,

DUMPED BY DOLPHINS

===LUDWIG AT LARGE offers this comprehensive look at the Bengals’ “Arrested Development.” So, please, read on, loyal studs & studettes:===

The Cincinnati Bengals just can’t help themselves.

In their search for talent, they snapped up another arrested dude.

After the Bengals announced the signing of ex-Miami Dolphins fullback Reagan Maui’a on Wednesday, Sept. 3, word spread quickly that Maui’a had been arrested on Friday, April 11, in Weston, Fla., by the Broward Sheriff’s Office on a charge of misdemeanor battery.

Check out the story at:

Now for some real entertainment and amusement, check out this unflattering video of Maui’a, who goes by the nickname, “Juggernaut.”

BENGALS PRESIDENT MIKE BROWN

ON JULY 22, 2008, AT BENGALS’

PRE-TRAINING CAMP LUNCHEON:

“The world is divided up between redeemers and non-redeemers. I happen to be a redeemer. I believe people can be made better and right. If that’s a fault, so be it. These guys misstep. They’ve paid prices for it that have been verging on ruinous …

“We don’t want that kind of behavior. We’ve tried to be more conscious of the guys we bring in than maybe we were before. We’re going forward and will try to go forward with the kind of guys we can count on, who are not just good players, but good citizens.”

ACCORDING TO CHICK LUDWIG’S RESEARCH…

From Dec. 15, 2005, to June 18, 2007 — a span of 19 months — 10 Bengals players were arrested in a total of 15 incidents.

The offenders and number of incidents were:

WR Chris Henry-4, LB Odell Thurman-2, LB A.J. Nicholson-2 and ONE EACH for DE Frostee Rucker, DT Matthias Askew, LG Eric Steinbach, WR Reggie McNeal, CB Deltha O’Neal, CB Johnathan Joseph and TB Quincy Wilson.

Of the “CINCINNATI 10” — the 10 players arrested since December 2005 — seven are no longer with the team.

LONG GONE: Thurman, O’Neal, McNeal, Nicholson, Askew, Steinbach and Wilson.

STILL HERE: Henry, Rucker and Joseph.

This one tops all. Now we have a Samoan gang to worry about in Ohio. Maybe he can share a room with Chris Henry since he’s probably looking for a room mate now. The two should be jail cell room mates. Good luck Marvin.

Hmm…Lorenzo Neal is still out there. Did Tyler Whaley latch on to another team? I would think Mikey B would want to redeem someone with a harder head. Oh, well, time to find out how Indianapolis is doing.

I don’t think Lorenzo Neal is out there still… He is with the Ravens now… Bengals face him this weekend.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought A.J. Nicholson and Frostee Rucker were arrested prior to joining the Bengals.

Sorry, Tank, but you’re wrong … On June 3, 2006, A.J. Nicholson surrendered to police in Tallahassee, Fla. He was charged with burglary and grand theft, and vandalism, for allegedly breaking into the apartment of a former Florida State teammate in mid-May and stealing $1,700 in electronics. On June 21, 2006, the Los Angeles City attorney’s office charged Frostee Rucker with two counts of vandalism and two counts of spousal battery, stemming from an August 2005 incident with a former girlfriend.

There’s one reason for all of this Chick, Mike Brown wants busted players because they’re cheaper. Like how cheap for Mike Brown to say that he recruits players to give them another chance. Like he’s some kind of savior. Cincinnati will never have a championship caliber team under Mike Brown.
