Bengals-Titans: 4 reasons why you should watch Cincy’s home opener

CAN PALMER BOUNCE BACK?

THAT’S CINCY QB’S CHALLENGE

The Paul Brown Stadium crowd’s reaction to Bengals WR Chad Ocho Cinco will be worth the price of admission. His trade demand fell on deaf ears in the offseason. Now he’s asking the fans for forgiveness. Will there be cheers, boos or a mixture of both? The fans’ treatment of one of the greatest players in franchise history will be an interesting dynamic.

“The Jungle” has been way too friendly for enemies. The Bengals’ best home record in Marvin Lewis’ five previous seasons — even during their 2005 playoff run — was 5-3 (4 times). With a Sept. 21 road date with the New York Giants looming, Sunday’s home opener against Tennessee finds the Bengals in a must-win situation.

Titans rookie tailback Chris Johnson, the No. 24 overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft from East Carolina, hits town. Johnson is an exciting player who runs hard and has the kind of rare speed needed to take a handoff to the house when he finds a crease. And his running mate, LenDale White, knows how to finish at the goal line.

The Bengals’ Carson Palmer is one of the league’s best quarterbacks. But he suffered through one of the worst performances of his career in a 17-10 loss at Baltimore when he completed only 10 of 25 passes for 99 yards, an interception that wasn’t his fault, and a 35.2 passer rating. Can he bounce back? He usually does. Yes, that’s his challenge.

Hey Chick!! I really think the Bengals should just go ahead and move to L.A. now. One Winning season per decade is just not enough for us as fans. We deserve more.

If we send to LA - then we have nothing, this is what we want? It is time for fan support either show up or close the stadium. I like Marvin Lewis and how handles the players. Eventually character will prevail.

Remember, in Marvin we trust? Well i lost the trust and he has totally lost this team. We will have to wait until the next decade for another chance of the playoff’s. We still have the Buckeyes so i really do not care for the Bengal’s anymore. Go Buckeyes!!!

Leave it to Bengals fans to be so high on their team for no REAL reason then abandon them so quickly. Let’s face it, if you happen to win Sunday…(this IS the NFL) you still have a mediocre team and you won’t smell the playoffs this year.

If the O-line sucks as bad this week as it has all season, our only hope is to put in fitzpatrick. at least he can scrammble!

It should have been five things to watch - the Bengals line play was horrendous last week. Will there be any improvement in one week’s time? (I don’t see how, it’s the same players.) Also, why would L.A. want the Bengals? They’re seeking a professional football team.

No crying here. I have been a Bengals Fan since 1968. I’m a Cincy home town Fan. Live life every minute and be thankful for the small things in life. A loss here will not make me miserable. A win makes my day a bit brighter but I will never make the Bengals an outsider. Sincerely, Life In General

I’m thinking after the last game that maybe Carson Palmer should go back to California where he can be close to USC since he HATES the BUCKEYES so damn much. I’ve been a Bengal fan since their inception, and I’m sick of the losing and their various negative attiudes. From 101 rating to a 35 rating, GREAT JOB CARSON! His rating seems to have gone down every year at Cincy.

What is going to L.A. going to do? They are still gonna be the same team with the same players and coaches, your logic makes no sense. A different city isnt going to make a team better or worse for that matter. All I can say is if your a Bengal fan then great if not the quit crying already and find a different team and quit wasting time reading columns you care nothing about. True fans sit thru the garbage, its called being a fan and not a FAKE. Pick a differnt team its not rocket science.

Eric your ignorant if you think Palmer a top 5 QB in the league. Did Dan Marino ever have a bad game? retard.

Carson Palmer doesn’t like Cincinnati, or Ohio and is collecting a paycheck. As far as Marino, same thing, except he lived in Miami where at least there were some fun distractions to occupy his time while his sucking team went merrily on their way. While I’m at it, Brown has his head up his wassu for bring back the “criminal” and undermining the Coach who obviously didn’t want him back. Great players do great things in adversity. James…you’re the idiot.

I don’t see how anyone can say Carson is a top 5 QB. He’s played subpar since the ‘o5 playoff injury… just like the rest of the highly overrated offense. Carson and Chad are not clutch…they hit the three run homer when you’re up by nine. They get their stats in bunches not when it counts. How many come from behind victories has Carson engineered? Tough catches from Chad in the forth quarter to keep drives alive.

JT you are retarded, how can carson not be good? he has never had a good defense. hes never had a running back that can break the big run. And this year he has no protection, even joe montana cannot put up good numbers when hes getting sacked and chased around like a virgin on prom night. but yet carson has managed to put up big numbers almost every year dispite all of this. i guarantee you put brady or manning on the bengals and they will do no better than carson!!!!!!

Another thing to watch is the players’ demeanor and body language. If the Bengals get blown out early like so many of us fear, we might start to see that hang-down hound dog look. In the Dave Shula years, it took three or four games for the team to hit rock bottom. It might come even sooner this year. I sure hope not, but you have to wonder.

All of you talk against the Bengals but still you guys are the ones complaining about a team you all obviously still watch and care about. Otherwise you wouldn’t be posting here or even reading this article. Who-Dey!!!

Who gives a F if Palmer likes the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes aren’t S. They get outstanding talent but peter out every year. They’ll likely do the same thing this year. Palmer’s low game rating was 43 until he busted that with a 35. Already he’s had too many games below a 50 rating. Maybe Chick can list Palmer’s games with a rating below 75.

id like to see you put up a 35 rating against the ravens when you have no protection, the giants defense won the bowl the got to brady and he didnt play as well carson never had a chance to throw the ball last week, brady would have stunk just as bad had he played in palmers place last week, how can you blame that on the QB? nobody in the league is going to put up good numbers when they are being knocked all over the place the entire game.

The Benglas and Bukeyes have completely lost me. Let the wrath rain down on Carson Palmer today, and let’s hope to God Marvin Lewis, Palmer, and that freak get run out of town. I’m so sick of this. As a life long Bengals and Buckeyes fan, the only thing worth paying attention to this football season, both college and pro, is to the Bengals’ losses. I hope and pray for an 0-16 season, and for ridicule to completely dismantle the Bengals’ dysfuntional organization. May the boos resound from on high today; the Bengals players must be shown they are unwanted in Cincinnati.
