Palmer optimistic about starting
NOTHING WILL STOP
PALMER FROM PLAYING
AGAINST BOYHOOD IDOLS
===LUDWIG AT LARGE is due to board an American Airlines jet for Dallas-Fort Worth at 12:35 p.m. out of Dayton International Airport. I’ll be blogging when I reach the Marriott Dallas Las Colinas in Irving, Texas. Please check back after 5 p.m. Eastern time. And thank you for your support.===
With quarterback Carson Palmer making all the throws in practice on Friday, the odds on Palmer starting against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday are looking better and better.
This game is very important to him, and NOTHING is going to stop Carson from playing against his boyhood idols.
IN CARSON’S WORDS
“Personally, I grew up a Cowboy fan. It’s a place I’ve never been and I’ve always wanted to play. I’ve always wanted to see it. I’m excited to see the old stadium and I’d love to see the new stadium.
“It looks like it’ll be a number of years before we get back there. But it’s America’s Team. It has a perception of being the classiest organization.
“A lot of guys won’t admit it, but everybody wants to play for the Cowboys. Everyone wants to get drafted by the Cowboys, the way the organization is set up and the way they treat their players. Everybody in the NFL looks forward to this game.
“The fan base, it seems so large, that they have fans all over the country. It just seems like it’s the big show, the Lakers of the NBA.
“It’s an exciting game for our team. A lot of guys on our team have talked about the Cowboys and what it would be like to play there. It will be a big game for us because of all the attention they probably get and just who the Cowboys are.
“I followed (Troy) Aikman and (Michael) Irvin and all the Super Bowls they had. Like I said, in California, when they came out to training camp, it’s like your home team when you don’t really have a team that’s close to you.”

Based upon the comments from Carson, he should play to fulfill a lifetime dream of his. The Bengals seem to be playing for the First draft pick next year, so if he is sacked a few times, it won’t really matter to him or the team. They’ll just muddle through the rest of the season. Let Chad kiss the star and just have fun.
