Chad Ocho Cinco: Past, present, future

STAR RECEIVER LEARNED PLENTY

FROM HIS OFF-SEASON ANTICS

HAS A TIGER NAMED CHAD

REALLY CHANGED HIS STRIPES?

NFL Network’s Sprint Halftime Show on Thursday Night Football featured Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson live via satellite. Here are excerpts from the interview with Deion Sanders, Marshall Faulk, Steve Mariucci and host Rich Eisen:

ON WHAT HE LEARNED FROM HIS OFF-SEASON:

“This is what I learned the most, and this is for anyone else who is coming along after me … As an individual, no matter who you are, no matter how good you are, unless you play quarterback, you will never dictate or run any organization, ever. So don’t ever pull what you just saw me pull in the off-season because you will lose.”

ON HIS CURRENT MIND SET:

“Instead of playing each week like we are 1-8, I’m playing like we are 8-1.”

ON HIS NAME CHANGE AND CURRENT SITUATION:

“No matter what my name is, I’m only as good as my opportunities.”

ON HIS FUTURE:

“I don’t know where I go from here.”

Next week … NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football features the Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers (8 p.m.) with Bob Papa and Cris Collinsworth calling the action.

THIS IS DEDICATED TO CHAD OCHO CINCO: “THE HEAVIEST CAT YOU EVER DID SEE!”

Big mouth, overpaid, showboat punk. Legend in his own mind- far from the best receiver in the league. Stop giving this guy any press and maybe he’ll go away. You fuel his ego when you pay attention to him. He’s not worth mentioning in your articles. He’s in it for himself. Not a contributing team player.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall during Drew Rosenhaus’s ‘Bengals exit strategy’ sessions with Chad. I guess we’ll have to wait till the season’s over to see if Chad crawls back up Drew’s backside or participates in the offseason program. I’ll bet on the former rather than the latter. Not that it makes a difference either way…

I have to admit that I like the change up with the Bangals (syn with Bengals) but Chad should be singing something more along the lines of Two Faces Have I or It’s Only Make Believe.

During a 1-8 season would be a good time to show humility, if a person is able. His last statement, ” I don’t know where I go from here”, is probably one of the truest statements he has made in sometime. I hope this change in him will stick.
