Shocker from Bengaldom: WR Chad Ocho Cinco deactivated for tonight’s game

The Cincinnati Bengals issued this statement on Thursday, Nov. 20:

Bengals wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco will be deactivated for tonight’s game at Pittsburgh, for violation of a team rule.

The Bengals will have no further comment until after the game.

Immediately, the speculation started about the seriousness of the violation, which ESPN’s John Clayton and Ocho Cinco’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, downplayed during interviews on ESPN.

IN JOHN CLAYTON’S WORDS:

I can say the team’s not saying anything until after the game. But what I’m hearing in the big picture it was probably a minor violation, but it was major enough that (head coach) Marvin Lewis decided to deactive him for the game. What I’m hearing is that he did sleep in for a meeting. Now I don’t know if that led to any kind of an argument with a team official or anything like that.

“But apparently the violation is enough at a time when they need wide receivers because they’re only going to have four active at the moment that Marvin Lewis decided to at least deactive him for the game. He did make the trip. It wasn’t like he missed the bus or missed plane or anything like that. And in the big picture, it’s nothing that was considered major. But again, something that Marvin Lewis didn’t like and decided it was a violation, and so he’s out for tonight.”

Rosenhaus attempted to diffuse the situation, but did admit that Ocho Cinco is sorry that he won’t be playing tonight; that he’s extremely frustrated by his role this season; and that the five-time Pro Bowler’s future in Cincinnati is very cloudy.

ROSENHAUS on Chad, “…He’s going to do everything he can to help the Bengals win the next five games that he will be able to play in.” (Oops!) He can play in all the games as long as he abides with team rules. It seems the football season is too long for COC to “be good”, and play like the Bengals are an 8-1 team. Just another incident in an otherwise dismal Cincinnati Bengals football season.

“…There is not a meltdown in Cincinnati”.ROSENHAUS In other words, keep filling the PB stadium seats, and MB will continue to reach his goal.

Dude overslept. It sucks but it happens to everyone now and then. Stop making it out to be like he got arrested.

Overslept for an 8:30PM - P friiggin M team meeting - which is the same final team meeting they have the night before every road game. Let’s see, the team got into to Pittsburgh that day - what the hell was so taxing about getting on a bus then a plane then a bus that you need six hours of sleep to get over it? The rest of the striped wonders seemed to be able to deal with it. It’s a small wonder these jokers are in last - forget running routes and blocking upfield - they can’t even get out of bed!

The blown off trade offer from the Redskins during this year’s NFL Draft officially rivals the blown off 1999 trade offer from the Saints in Bengals infamy. I doubt they could get a box of used jock straps for Chad after this season.

Chickie, was it you that he got into a fight with? Not sure who is a bigger joke, the Chickster or the Bungles?

And so once again we’re subjected to Ocho Stinko’s childish antics, whining, and cries of “I wanna be traded”. You know if he caught the ball as much as he whines about being frustrated, maybe he wouldn’t be so frustrated and the Bengals would be a winning team instead of the league joke!

Maybe Marvin was quietly trying to save Ocho from the wrath of Troy Polamolu??

Dear Bengal’s please assume your role of Pittsburgh’s b***h, they know it, we fans know it, and deep down you so called men know it. PS REMENBER TO HELP THEM UP FROM THE TURF, IF YOU CAN GET THEM DOWN.

The Bengals are such a joke. And you pityful people that continue to support them are only supporting Mike Brown, not the team. Pittsburgh will destroy them again tonight. It’s lucky that you poor Bengal fans can’t afford the NFL network and won’t be subjected to another butt kicking. If you boobs would stay away from the stadium, and stop buying those ridiculous jerseys, maybe MB would sell the team to a legitimate owner and you might get some sembalence of a real NFL team back in Cincinnati. Good luck with all that.

ML spoiled COC all these years in letting him do his stupid pet tricks after a touchdown, now all of the sudden ML wants to be tough guy, and COC probably doesn’t understand where he is coming from. We must be consistent with children.

Bengal fans are retarded. FIRST the NFL rejected the Chad Johnson trade not the Bengals your MORONS. They didnt have the cap space. Second, Chad did not get sent home because he overslept. He got sent home because he cussed out his coach. Get your facts straight before you cry about another loss.
