Giving credit where credit is due (‘Cutman,’ Solomon Wilcots & C. Trent Rosecrans)

‘CUTMAN’ SHOULD TOSS

‘CHICKSTER’ A BONE FOR

SHAYNE GRAHAM INFO

I am an avid listener to sports talk radio and I was paying attention to WLW’s “Countdown to Kickoff” prior to the Bengals-Ravens game on Sunday, Nov. 30.

Host Alan Cutler had an excellent feature on Bengals kicker Shayne Graham’s eating habits and hefty appetite.

The “Cutman” said Graham once ate 18 tacos in one sitting in college at Virginia Tech — and wasn’t full … that Graham once devoured 14 chili dogs at a cookout — and was still hungry … and that Graham had a chef cook 48 pounds of turkey for a Thanksgiving feast that Graham hosted for teammates.

I only wish Alan would’ve given credit to THE CHICKSTER because I WAS THE ONE WHO WROTE IT for the Dayton Daily News and blogged it on LUDWIG AT LARGE at DaytonDailyNews.com.

I don’t mind “Cutman” using my stuff — that’s what radio guys do; they read the newspaper — just give credit where credit is due.

Alan likes to say, “I LOVE THE CHICKSTER!”

Here’s hoping that next time, he toss me a bone … gently.

SOLOMON WILCOTS SOUNDS OFF

Solomon Wilcots, the former Bengals defensive back-turned-broadcaster-NFL analyst, called Sunday’s game with play-by-play man Ian Eagle for CBS Sports.

I bumped into “Solly” in the press box elevator after the game as I was headed downstairs to the Bengals locker room.

I asked him if he’d like to say anything about the Bengals’ performance.

“Sure,” he said. “But I don’t have anything good to say.

“The one thing is I thought they were going to be able to run the ball this year. Clearly, they can’t. Clearly can’t run the ball. You can’t run. You can’t protect. You can’t throw it.

“Even their top receivers, when you throw the ball over the middle, they can’t catch it. Too many drops. They’re under-performing in every area.

“Former first round pick at cornerback (Leon Hall) gets beat repeatedly.

“Defensively, I thought there was great effort out there, but nothing consistent.

“Obviously, this is a Ravens offense with a rookie quarterback that looked better against this defense than they had in Week 1.

“Other than that, they were all right.”

BEST LINE OF THE DAY

Came from Clear Channel-Cincinnati sports blogger C. Trent Rosecrans.

As we watched Bengals fans on the “L-scalator” flooding the exits in the third quarter …

“The Bengals ought to let people in for free … then make ‘em pay to leave.”

UNTIL NEXT TIME…

This is “The Chickster” saying, “Make Love, Not War; Give Peace a Chance; and Strawberry Fields Forever.”

Interesting to see all of the faithful who are no longer posting comments in these forums. Yet, they still flock to PBS & toss countless amounts of money @ MB. Still & always will be — PATHETIC!

I didn’t catch that, but I also instinctively change the channel whenever I hear Alan Cutler’s voice, like most people.

C. Trent Rosecrans …“The Bengals ought to let people in for free … then make ‘em pay to leave.” This is something like Jay Leno said in his monologue one night about the big three automakers show in LA. “It cost $10.00 to get in and 2.5 billion to get out”. So we are all copycats at some point in time.

Cutler is a no talent hack. He hasn’t had an original idea since Paul Brown was still alive. If only Cutler and Mike Brown could be exiled to Pittsburgh to make their lives miserable.
