Where have all the Bengals fans gone?
BENGALS TURN TO ‘TICKET PACKS’
AFTER ‘SELECT-A-SEAT’ BOMBS
Have you ever thrown a party where nobody showed up?
That’s basically what happened on the final day of Cincinnati Bengals minicamp on Saturday, June 20.
The club opened the doors of Paul Brown Stadium, hoping fans would take advantage of the club’s “Select-A-Seat” event while watching the team practice for free.
The result? There couldn’t have been 1,000 fans in the joint.
This was your only opportunity to witness the club in action prior to its July 30 arrival at Georgetown (Ky.) College for training camp, yet you stayed away for any number of reasons. Apathy is at the top of my list.
Season tickets are available for public sale for the first time since 2006 because fans are tired of losing, tired of being built up and let down, tired of 18 years with only one playoff berth, and tired of the Chad Ochocinco Circus.
The season ticket waiting list exhausted, the Bengals are taking steps to keep their franchise-record streak of 44 straight sellouts intact.
Starting Monday, June 29, “ticket packs” are being offered for the 2009 home season with the price range from $256 to $328 per pack.
The “orange pack” is Denver (Sept. 13), Chicago (Oct. 25), Cleveland (Nov. 29) and Detroit (Dec. 6).
The “black pack” is Pittsburgh (Sept. 27), Houston (Oct. 18), Baltimore (Nov. 8) and Kansas City (Dec. 27).
The Bengals Ticket Hotline is 513-621-TDTD. Will you be dialing?

I quit cheering for the bengals when they all started having serious trouble staying out of jail. One of them is always under arrest for something, and Chad Johnson’s ego is just too big. I love the Colts, and Peyton Manning is a great role model for my son. Go Colts!!!By Dog

I am just tired of it all. Every year same old story. Lose lose and lose, arrest, arrest, arrest. When the Bumgles start winning, stop getting arrested, and no more circus acts, like Chad Johnson, then I will think about returning. What a sad joke this team has become. DogBy still a fan

i am excited about getting the opportunity to attend some games at PBS this upcoming season. they had an exciting draft and i am definitely looking forward to seeing carson back on the field. everyone is so negative. i wonder how many browns fans stopped being browns fans…i mean…their record hasn’t been one to write home about and stallworth ran over someone while under the influence! not to mention they up and moved to baltimore. remember that? yet. i don’t see them bailing on their team. oh well. such is the life of a bengals football fan though. you either take the good and the bad or you pout and complain about how the bengals aren’t rubbing your feet and stroking your ego. get over it and just have fun! go bengals!By Browns Fan

I was just about to get on the Bengals fans for once again showing that they are terrible fans. But Still a Fan has shown there is still hope. Cincy DID have a good draft and your franchise QB IS back in the saddle this year. Support your squad! Well done Still-a-Fan.By Robert Y

Chick props to you for being the only media member who has written about last Sat. As someone who sold their PSL I’ll admit to being curious as to how the event went; or not go as seems to be the case. The love for this former customer ended when Mikey lied to us. First it was no more problem children and then 3 weeks later the Village Idiot #15 is back on the roster. Now tho be fair he has stayed out of trouble and hopefully will in the future but it’s to late for this fan. And the $ spent on tickets in the past bought 2 sweet HD sets to watch other teams on this fall as most home games will be blacked out. What? You say no other games on during the blackout? No problem there is golf and tennis to be played and leaves to be raked. For this fan no more leaving in the middle of the 3rd quarter of another lousy game. About the only thing I’ll miss is comraderie during tailgating. And still the media has to spend their Sundays watching this team w/o the benefit of combat pay.By Chick Ludwig

Bobby V, my favorite St. William Braves teammate: You were a great first baseman and a great pitcher. Most importantly, you’ve been a great friend. Your parents treated me like I was their son, and I’ll always be thankful and grateful. Like you, I miss the good ol’ days of The Rattler, Leapin’ Lemar, Boobie, the Essex Express … and all the studs who made our Sundays special. I’ve covered one winning team in 12 years. It’s a heck of a way to earn a paycheck. As Clint says…”Dying ain’t much of a livin’.” With love from your Price Hill bro … ChickBy V

I will always be a Bengals fan, win or lose! I will go to games when I can, but almost prefer to sit at home or at a friends house and watch the game while drinking ice cold beer! This year looks to be very promising, and I’m excited for preseason already. And I don’t care what people say about my man Ochocinco; he is a pro-bowler and an amazing talent. Go Bengals!!!!! I hate it when they lose just like anyone else, but I still am a fan…I just can’t help it. I like them too much. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to go to a game or two this year. This is going to be one of the best Bengals teams we’ve ever seen and probably the best team this year! Gooooooo Bengals!By Bengals Fan Always
