Fui Vakapuna

Vakapuna — pronounced “FOO-ee vah-kuh-POO-nuh” — was the first of the Bengals’ three seventh-round picks.

He helped lead BYU to a 32-7 record over his final three campaigns. He played in 42 total games for the Cougars, totaling 1,181 rushing yards and 14 TDs on 249 carries (4.7-yard average). He also caught 28 passes for another 189 yards and four TDs.

Vakapuna is the fifth of Cincinnati’s 11 draft picks to sign. The previous four include CB Morgan Trent of Michigan (sixth round), HB Bernard Scott of Abilene Christian (sixth round), DT Clinton McDonald of Memphis (seventh round) and WR Freddie Brown of Utah (seventh round).
