Reds make no moves
The first question manager Dusty Baker was asked Friday at his pre-game press briefing: “Any roster moves?”
Nope. None.
“We discussed some moves, but there is nothing happening right now,” said Bakeer. “We’re in the same position. We won’t do anything today.”
Baker mentioned that catcher David Ross is eligible to come off the DL, “But he has had a cojuple of setbacks with illness and some personal things. I’d say he’d be back sometime next week.”
The Reds, of course, have until Monday to decide whether Josh Fogg starts against the Los Angeles Dodgers, or Matt Belisle is activated and makes the start.

Is David Weathers just a really nice guy or something? Why is he still in the bullpen? He is absolutely horrible. When I saw him come in, I knew it was over.

Geez, Coffey actually spotted his pitches pretty well the other night—I hate to be fair with him, as I expect failure again, soon! Oh, and I actually saw Junior sprint out of the batters box, after bunting yesterday! Well, I guess one could call that a sprint. Did you ever notice how Rush {Rhump}Limbaugh {Lumpball} lovers fit exceedingly well into the same mold{MB}? Talk way too much—then condescendingly get themselves into trouble because they speak about a subject before they think it through, thoroughly? Wonder if “Cowboy” ever gets tired of the condescending attitude?

Okay, I’m GM this morning: Dunn will NEVER be more than a DH so I ship his underperforming fanny to an AL team ASAP. Seriously, how much longer can we wait for this guy? I’d move EE to left and tweak things when Gonzo returns at SS. Freel/Kepp can play 3rd. Last night’s game was over in the 1st inning. You could feel it. A shake-up of some magnitude is needed even though it’s only stinkin’ April. Something’s missing from this team. Dusty’s not the problem. These guys simply don’t hit.

Max, that’s my point. I’m just saying that everyone is clamoring for some right-handed savior to come. That’s not going to change anything. The rest of this team needs to hit too. On another note, people commenting in this blog need to hit the post this comment button one time. Hitting three times while it’s queuing doesn’t make it faster. It only makes it post three times.

I wonder who would be considered the strongest person on this team? They all are looking pretty weak at the plate. Hacking, loose swings producing either strike outs or weak pop-ups. These guys need CrossFit and not the dull, plodding gym work like arm curls, dumb leg extensions, or tricep pushdowns.

Until someone realizes that Freel is their best bet for leadoff there isn’t going to be much of a change. He’s proven his worth over and over again. The Freel Hopper combo is a sure bet. The “W” Vs. “L” bracket has proven that. You can’t leave a guy on the bench to get stale and expect him to perform as his replacement has not proved to be the solution with all their at bats. Someone needs to wake up…………..

Seven failures out of ten? Well, I’d think that’d be an improvement over what the Reds are getting from Dunn, EE, Valentin and a few others I could mention. As for booing, yah, it’s sad but it’s not as sad as having the bases loaded and yielding null runs.

Well, went to the game tonight. We had a lot of fun, even with the loss. A win would have been more fun. It was great to see the bases loaded without EE up, but that didn’t help the outcome. I was really sorry to hear all of the boos from our own obnoxious fans. Anyway, things have to change. But adding a right-handed bat isn’t the answer. In the best case scenario, that bat will still fail 7 out of 10 times. Until the Reds on the roster right now start hitting their weight, one more bat isn’t going to change anything.

Not looking forward to Ross coming back. He’s batting a cool .118 in Louisville (2 for 17, 3 walks and an RBI). If we’re looking for a right handed bat, we should look right past Ross and pick someone who’s effective.
