MIKE BROWN IS THE PROBLEM… HE WANTS TO SPEND AS LITTLE MONEY AS POSSIBLE.. HOW MANY CAHES HAVE WE BEN THROUGH?.. HOW MANY GOOD PLAYER HAVE LEFT?.. I DONT BLAME CHAD FOR WANTING TO LEAVEMIE BROWHAS NO COMMITMENT TO WINNING.. I GOING TO TRY AND START A WEBSITE MIKEBROWNSUCKS.COM… SOMEONE SHOULD
Landon Johnson was consistently average. Many times when the other team had big plays, it was because the d-line couldn’t keep the guards off the small linebackers by drawing a double team, and small Johnson got swallowed up. I think in part, besides the injuries, small Johnson kept more talented players from “finding their way” on the field. Not so much last year, since they just needed warm bodies to put out there, but now they avoid 2nd guessing themselves not putting top tackler out there.
I think all the defensive upfront guys are all expendable, we were at the bottom of the heap from 27-31st ranked on defense in the last few years. The whole defense needs to be revamped except for the defensive backfield which showed signs of huge improvement last season. Yes you hate to see solid players go, but we need extaordinary players to improve this terrible D. As usual I’ll be in the wait and see mode to see how the new coordinators improve this defense. Been a Bengal since ‘72..WHO DEY
Thugs, drunks, drugs and players hitting their head coach? I don’t see a problem here. This franchise is a joke. Carson Plamer neeeds to get the hell out of town before he ruins his career. They are a 8-8 team at best, but Mike brown is happy because he is making money. Until the sheep errr bengal fans stop going & spending money it will never change.
The Bengals better spend some money on recruiting some new ticket holders because their lack of effort to keep the talent of the team intact for the last few years has me disgusted. The Brown family seems more inclined to hoard their money than field a quality team. Making the playoffs every few years is not the goal - they should be committed to fielding a winner. They have reached a critical state of being bad enough to keep away free agents and unable to keep their own emerging talent.
Mike Brown is the problem people. This franchise is doomed. Look at the win-lose record since Mikey boy took over. 106 wins and 182 loses. That is pathetic. The only reason he is in football is because he is sperm lucky. It is only a business for him,. He has no passion for a winning team like you or I. He is a loser and does not mind losing…on the field. If he started to lose money it would be a different story. After 25 years of watching this mess, I am done. Mike Brown is inept.
You wanted change on the defense yet you complain when you get it.
Landon was an average linebacker who looked better than he was because of the poor players around him. As I read somewhere else, Landon on the Bengals defense was like the smartest kid in the dumb class.
He had only 3.5 sacks and 1 INT in 4 years. He was not a difference maker.
I don’t really understand how we can let him go.
It’s a player that you know you can count on. He has not missed a game in four years. He can play all LB spots. He’s our leading tackler. He has not “off the field” problems. And we let him go.
Sadness, the word that comes at me, to describe his departure. We need new players to improve our defense, ok, but we should keep too, our valuable players, and Landon Johnson was one of them.
Lets get rid of these “solid” players who helped the Bengals have one of the weakest D’s in the league last year. Let’s revamp and hope for the best, like we have for the last 17 years! WHO DEY!
The Enquirer said that the Bengals attempted to match Carolina’s offer but Landon chose to leave. I really appreciated his toughness and effort and hate to see him go. He was never meant to be “the guy” here. He was the leading tackler because of injuries to others. He’s not a big money linebacker and might not even start in Carolina. I wish him good luck, and the Bengals good luck in finding healthy linebackers.
Wow, once again we see another productive member of the Bengals’ organization go to another team and perform well. The real question fan’s should be asking is “if we can see the needs of the team, shouldn’t a smart coach and paid professional also be able to see?”. The next question has to be “having no authority to control what personnel comes to the team; how long does it take Lewis to leave and save his name? Player’s/fan’s will have a difficult road ahead, Ocho Cinco was just the begining…

This should not surprise anyone. With they way they handle off-season moves, they’ll be looking to get a “more-mature” well established veteran to come in and save them. Takeo just became available, and fits the bill. WHAT A JOKE. If it weren’t for getting away from the wife on Sundays I’d give up my tickets.
When the Bengals lose, fans gripe (nice word) when they trade, fans gripe lose a player, they gripe. Maybe the bengals are trying to make a better team. Let Jessie rob the train and you watch, if it doesnt work then holler. Defence can,t get much worse than it’s been in the past few years. GO MARVIN GO BENGALS
Well, they were something like 27th defense with Landon Johnson and Justin Smith, so its not like that has been a good unit. The Bengals have been losing players off the defense for the past two years. The way the Bengals send talent off to other clubs, its too bad there isn’t a minor leagues of NFL. The Bengals might make an OK farm club. The Browns, on the other hand, look to keep improving.
sometimes I beleive the comments about Marvin and the Browns are a bit over the top.It does make you wonder when you have a team leader in tackles for 3 years no on or off field problems and not be considered one of the better players. Is it because he does not have a big mouth and is constantly self promoting. Is it because he does not do drugs and get in trouble off the field or maybe because he plays hurt and trys to do what is best for the team.do we need more like that on the roster?
The 2008 Bengal season will be deja vu all over again, just like the teams from the late 90’s and into the early 2000 seasons. Looks like a 4-12 season coming up. The front office of this franchise is a joke.
How in the world did they lose him to begin with? That is a major blow to the linebackers position and will not be easy to replace but Marvin Lewis will find someone. I just think the front office needs to head this off from happening but coughing up the bucks to keep these people.
