Rob Lowery will be signed by Central Florida or somebody down south. I thought Steve Thomas had game. He’s Mr Basketball or something from Indy. Guess he can’t cut it if BG is bird hunting a point guard in JUCO. Cordiero was a fish. Kurt’s a fish. Face it. They both are nailed to the floor. No hops. Better figure something out quick Gregs.

Transfers into and out of a program are no longer unusal. I am more concerned about feeling there is need to bring in a PG. What this says to me is the coaching staff may have erred in recruiting Warren and/or Thomas. Your talking about 2 guys who were recruited to play the position and who will have been in the ‘system’ 1+ seasons already by the time next year rolls around. Bringing a juco in doesn’t indicate alot of confidence in at least one if not both ‘veterans’.

he needs to get rob lowery sined this weekend when he is on campus so that loundon can play his good dee and run backup along with thomas 2 guard is fine watch out x next year we got a tone of big boys ud 1 in a/10 x 3 go ud to the final in the ncaa.

No big shock here. Dayton is averaging at least one transfer per off season since Gregory arrived. Not to many guys seem willing to be role players anymore, at least not at UD’s level.

If you think transfers didn’t happen under previous coaches, you weren’t paying attention. Just one example but how about: Stan King, Lamar Hill, Jason Osborne, and Sammy Smith. Four transfers under Purnell from the SAME recruiting class

I really feel that if a player leaves on his own free will and was given a scholarship….he sould have to pay back a percentage…..The correct term is “RESPONSIBILITY & OBLIGATIONS”… Grow up and join the real world !!!!!

I like London Warren, but he is so out of control on offense because he is constantly trying to put up a ball in traffic that is 10 inches taller than him. Defense is only one part of the complete game. London needs to work on confidence in the off season and learn how to stop and pop.

Adios London Warren? Have you seen the kid play defense? He was named the defensive player of the year on the team. Quick hands, and made some incredible blocks as well. He made serious strides and improvements since his freshman year.

You guys are brutal and uninformed: BG didn’t force anybody out & TC would’ve played. TC wanted more time than 5-12 a game. That’s it—End of story. It’s a new NCAA game today, kids transfer all the time, they don’t honor their commitments to a school anymore & they don’t lose anything by the move. Just look at that selfish kid Meacham: He’ll be a SENIOR this year at Illinois, instead of finishing up his career as promised to UD with B-Rob in a backcourt that would have gone Elite 8.

Rob Lowery is a 1st team All American along with Simmons too, BG was out in Arizona this past weekend, watching both kids in the Juco All Star game, I believe that ship will be gone by Monday

I would adios London Warren too. Why roster a PG who has more turnovers than assists? Marcus Johnson has the speed, smoothness, athleticism and ballhandling skills to be a great point guard.Plus he rarely turns the ball over and his size poses matchup problems on D. It is a shame not to play him there because he has the athletic ability to play in the bigs. Get a solid JC Pg to back him up. Cordero is expendable because Searcy showed that he was able to contribute solid minutes at the end.

Cordeiro is a scapegoat because of weakness at the point. Coach has two choices - a) stick with weak point guards and hope for the best next year or b) force open a scholarship to hopefully get a better point guard (or at least someone who is willing to shot a three). Holding the scholarship open makes no sense.Coach bears responsibilty for the weak point guards. Why is there no point guard among the incoming class? We’re way overloaded at shooting guard. Maybe Perry should be the one booted.

I agree it may be best to wait and get a really good recruit for the 2009 class. Most good players for 2008 have already committed.

It’s not that BG “lost” this Brazilian Beanpole, it’s that he stunk it up so bad that he “let him go” so we could get a REAL player with some Div I talent. How many more skinny 7 ft white dudes who wont/cant dunk do we need? Everytime I see Huelsman out there I have flashbacks to Wes Coffee as if he were on Xanax. At least TC had energy, but just wasn’t that talented. Now the Flyers can get a real recruit from JC and stack the team with some PLAYAS!

While I’m sure that TC will be replaced by a JC transfer who will have an immediate impact on the team, I’m troubled by what seems to be a rash of ‘transfer outs.’ Flyer teams, in my memory, were more stable. Anyone else have concerns sbout the program’s commitment to it’s scholarship players?

TC was a good guy and best of luck to him. UD will end up with either Simmons or Lowery and solidfy their depth at the PG spot. With that in mind, the Flyers will be at the top on the A10.

Division II Player of the Year: Jeremie Simmons.First-Team NJCAA All-American as well as Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) and Region 12 Player of the Year after averaging 21.1 points, which ranked 11th in Division II, and 3.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest. He shot 48.2 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from the three-point line.heavily recruited by South Florida, Alabama, Ohio State, Dayton, Butler and Valparaiso.

We were warned this would likely be the way Coach Gregory would free up another scholarship to find an experienced point guard who can shoot the three. However, I also wonder what Cordiero was told when he was recruited. Was he given reason to expect that he had the scholarship for at least 2 years? He might have lost an opportunity to stick with another team to come to Dayton. If so, it seems unfair to deny him the paid education, whether he plays or not, so long as he gave it his best shot.

Its pretty obvious why the guy wants to leave. I just wonder what he was told when he was recruited. How many players has Gregory lost now. Would be interested in how his numbers compare with previous coaches relative to players recruited then lost after 1 or 2 years.

Got to trust the coach. If this kid showed poptential he would have been playing. They need a point guard, hope they get one.
