Police arrest woman indicted on aggravated vehicular homicide charges stemming from November accident
DAYTON — A woman indicted on charges that she killed one passenger and severely injured another while driving intoxicated was arrested by Dayton police Wednesday, May 27.
Felicia D. Burg, 25, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail just before 8 a.m., according to jail records.
Burg was indicted May 22 on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, two counts of aggravated vehicular assault and two counts of driving while intoxicated.
Burg was driving a Chevrolet Impala at 3 a.m. on Nov. 29 when she lost control while driving at a high rate of speed along North Main Street. The car slammed into an RTA utility pole near the intersection of Main and Lawn streets, ejecting two female passengers, according to police.
Cicely Shontee, 25, of Dayton, died at Miami Valley Hospital. Mykala Mercer, 21, is still recovering from her injuries, according to Greg Flannagan, spokesman for the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.
Burg, who was trapped in the car and had to be cut out by fire crews, also was seriously injured, according to police

Sad that comments can be posted on this allegedly intoxicated young girl, but no postings are possible on Marc Greenburg’s indictment regarding his alleged obscene transmissions. …..just DDN’s way of paying homage to attorneys?

Wow. That crash was six months ago. Why does it take so long indict someone in cases like this?

I agree. Why does it take so long and the sentence will be so short as if she killed a dog but not a human being

Hmm, why does it take so long to indict? I’ll give you two words, Matt Heck!

She should not have been driving while intoxicated, yet her intentions were not to kill anyone,i do not agree with convictions pertaining to vehicular manslaughter.

Samantha, I respectfully disagree with your position. ANYTIME you choose to drive while under the influence, you may as well assume your intentions are to kill someone.

“Why does it take so long to indict somebody…” You’re in Montgomery county, that’s why. It’s easy for a prosecutor to have a 99% conviction rate when you pick and choose the cases you’re willing to prosecute. Unfortunately, the majority of citizens in Montgomery county do not understand how Mat Heck’s office likes to do business.

Wow… this is sad. Felicia is my half sister that I haven’t seen or talked to in probably 15 years and this is how I see her. Well I’m praying for the family of Cicely Shontee. Also for my sister because I know she’s going through a lot. P.S. It took so long because she was in the hospital also.

P.S. Being in the hospital has nothing to do with her being indicted by a grand jury.

Everyone makes choices. All made the choice to be in the car with an intoxicated driver. Burg will forever be imprisoned with knowing she had fault in killing her friend.

KK, All of you made the “not so right” decision of getting in that car. Friends don’t let friends drive drunk and that’s real. I woulda been walkin home if I knew the driver was that drunk and none of the riders were designated. Everybody was in the wrong here because before yall went out I’m sure yall knew yall would be getting f**d up. Just be real. What’s done is done tho and Cicely is in a better place. RIP Cicely Shontee.

to everyone….. like i said before, i was there and i know what happened. for everones imformation it was just me and cicely hanging out that night. we didnt even know where the driver was at. when the bar closed we didnt know how drunk she was till she started driving… and may god be my wittness we tried to get her to pull the car over…. we tried our best..this is not my fault….. i know what happened. i was not responcable for the death of my friend…. for the simple fact that i was not drunk driving. i dont want to hear what i should of done or what i could of done. i know i tried with my mouth. you cant do much with a moving car….
