Ex-convict facing new child abuse charges
DAYTON — A man who served 16 months in prison for shaking and injuring his infant son was indicted Wednesday, May 27, on two counts of child endangering.
Huber Heights police arrested Jeremiah Gaddis, 25, at his home at 8311 Mt Carmel Street on Wednesday morning. Gaddis remained in the Montgomery County Jail on Friday.
Information about the latest charges, returned by a Montgomery County grand jury, were not available Friday morning. Gaddis was paroled Oct. 15, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
That conviction, in Butler County Common Pleas Court, was for attempted child endangering. Gaddis, who then lived in Fairfield, was accused of shaking and injuring his infant son while at the child’s mother’s Middletown home.
Ethan Gaddis was 5 months old in October 2006 when an ambulance brought him to Middletown Regional Hospital’s emergency room. The boy was suffering from a head injury.
Gaddis told police he was watching the boy at the mother’s residence when the boy fell off the couch. The mother was not home at the time, police said.
After the baby was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, investigators learned that the boy’s injuries and Gaddis’ story didn’t match up. Doctors said the baby was suffering from bleeding on the brain, and that the injury could not have been caused by a fall from the couch, police said.

i am the couson to little ethan n i deep in my heart feel that this sum b***h needs to be put away for good an no chance of gettin out. who ever okay’d him to get out of jail n be able to be around childern should have sum liability for what this bastard has done. if it was up to me i who sentence him to be shook n beat’n till he can no longer breath anymore. This man should be locked in prison. I know some of the things that Amber goses thru its not rite that he aint in jail. We are talking bout a child not a animal. He should do life just like Ethan has to go thru his life with the problems that he has, its not rite. I put my faith in god and that he will do the rite thing here.By mom

I am friends with the mother of Ethan & i have watched Ethan several times & he is the most adorable little boy in the world. that idiot needs to be locked up forever. he is nothing but a P.O.S! i cant stand him & i have never even met him but what he put Ethan through & now another child was harmed by him. he makes me sick. he is a monster who needs to be brought down. bring justice to Ethan!By Jenny

As a victim of child abuse, I have suffered through dozens of head injuries. With the long term effects debilitating my life in my ‘30’s, reading this article wrenches my heart. This poor child will suffer a lifetime of residual effects caused by the gross negligence of his “father.” If only we lived in a society that allows a person to peform one wrong with another wrong.
