Boy accused of killing cousin is indicted
DAYTON — A 16-year-old boy accused of killing his cousin in a drug-related dispute was indicted Thursday, April 22, on two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault.
Gregory Lamar Parson has been in the Juvenile Justice Center since shortly after the Nov. 21 shooting of Trenton Scroggins, though he is expected to be transferred to the county jail, Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Greg Flannagan said last month.
The cousins were on Willowwood Drive when they got into a dispute about a drug debt and guns were taking out, Dayton Sgt. Gary White said at the time. Scroggins, then 19, was shot several times and died hours later at Miami Valley Hospital.
