Illegal immigrant who entered the U.S. four times is sent to prison
DAYTON — A Mexican citizen deported three times from the United States was sentenced Friday to 46 months in prison for illegally re-entering the United States after being deported.
Rene Garcia Reyes, 33, appeared before U.S. District Senior Judge Walter H. Rice.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) discovered Reyes in the Montgomery County Jail on Oct. 29. Available court records did not specify why Reyes had been booked into the jail.
ICE agents determined that Reyes had been deported on three earlier occasions in February, 2004, November, 2005 and March, 2009, that Reyes had been convicted on two prior burglary convictions in 2003, and that he was barred from ever returning to the United States, according to court documents.
Reyes will be deported after serving his prison sentence.
