Muder suspect returning to Dayton

DAYTON — A man arrested in Texas last week as a suspect in an April homicide has waived his right to an extradition hearing and is expected to be back in Dayton next week, said Dayton police Lt. Patrick Welsh.

David D. Dominguez, 37, was arrested Friday, May 1, in Pasadena, Texas, after police in Dayton issued an arrest warrant. Dominguez was wanted in the April 24 killing of 27-year-old Rodrigo Resendiz, who was hit by an SUV in the parking lot of Katie’s Place, 2264 E. Fifth St., about 1 a.m.

Police believed Dominguez was attempting to flee into Mexico, which would’ve made his arrest and extradition much more difficult, Welsh said.

According to witnesses and evidence, Dominguez and Resendiz, who worked together at a local factory, apparently arrived at the bar together and got into a racially motivated argument with others in the bar, Dayton Sgt. Gary White has said. They left the building, and Dominguez got into an SUV and drove it into the parking lot, White said.

Dominguez then struck Resendiz and three others, and Resendiz died at the scene, White said.

Dominguez was hiding with family in Pasadena, where he was arrested by local police.

Another Craigslist prostitution bust, this time in Miamisburg

Dayton police detectives arrested a 26-year-old woman at a Red Roof Inn in Miamisburg on a soliciting charge after first contacting her using the classifieds Web site Craigslist.

Angela D. Stover was arrested at 9:49 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, on charges of soliciting and possession of drugs after a Dayton police vice crimes unit detective found her advertisement on Craigslist, according to a police report. The ad was found in the controversial “erotic services” tab, which has made nationwide news in recent weeks.

Stover’s ad, titled “Strawberry blonde cowgirl back!!!!” that listed her as a 22-year-old female and contained a nude photograph, included a phone number that a Dayton detective first called at 5:46 p.m., the report said. Stover, who said her name was Sara, told the detective she could see him at the Red Roof Inn, 222 Byers Road, where she had a room, the report said.

The detective made contact with Stover at the room several hours later. While both stood in the doorway, Stover agreed to sexual acts in exchange for $200, the report said. Other undercover detectives then came to the room and arrested Stover.

While interviewing Stover, detectives learned she had 33 Percocet pills in a drawer in the room, the report said. Detectives also discovered Stover had several prostitution convictions in the Cincinnati area, the report said.

We recently addressed police attention to the Craigslist erotic services tab, which continued its national presence this week when several state attorney generals said they would meet with the company about removing the tab.
