Girlfriend of homicide victim gets gun put to her head

DAYTON - The girlfriend of a recent homicide victim was robbed at gunpoint Saturday, June 6, after she tried to do her own investigating of her boyfriend’s death.

The 47-year-old woman told officers responding to the prayer vigil for Michael Jordan in the 200 block of Fountain Avenue that she walked around the neighborhood just after midnight “trying to get answers” surrounding Jordan’s death, according to a police report.

Jordan’s girlfriend said she did not believe homicide detectives were making enough progress in finding Jordan’s killer and she wanted answers.

The woman said she approached a group of men to find out what they knew about Jordan’s death and they told her to go behind apartments in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue.

There, the woman said a man pulled out a large, black handgun and put it to her head, the report stated. The gunman took her purse, the report stated.

The gunman told her not to come back and to stop asking question’s about Jordan’s death, the report stated.

“He said give me one reason why I shouldn’t kill you,” she told officers. “(He) told me I would be next if I didn’t shut up about Mike.”

Jordan’s girlfriend was not physically harmed during the altercation and provided a description of the gunman, according to police. Anyone with information about Jordan’s death or the robbery of his girlfriend is urged to call 333-COPS.
